Murattu Kaalai (2012 Film)
''Murattu Kaalai'' () is a 2012 Tamil-language action film written and directed by K. Selva Bharathy and produced by Amirtham Gunanidhi. A remake of the 1980 film of same name, it stars Sundar C., Sneha and Sindhu Tolani, while Suman and Vivek play supporting roles. The music was composed by Srikanth Deva. The film, which had been under production since 2008, released on 15 June 2012 to negative reviews and failed to repeat the success of original. Plot Kaalaiyan is a simple person and the best ''Jallikattu'' (bullfight) player in his village. His world revolves around his four younger brothers. Varadharajan, a Zamindar from the neighbouring village who lives an extravagant lifestyle. His close aide is the transgender Saroja. Panchanathan Arunachalam (22 March 1941 – 9 August 2016) was an Indian writer, director, producer and lyricist who worked in Tamil cinema. He was mentored by poet Kannadasan who was his uncle. He also worked as a lyricist in the Tamil cinema industry. He started producing films under his production banner named P. A. Arts. His son Subbu Panchu Arunachalam is an actor and dubbing artist in the Tamil film industry. Career In 2004, Panchu Arunachalam opted to return to work as a director and planned a film titled ''Ganesha'' with Cheran in the lead role. However, the film eventually did not materialise. Periya Karuppu Thevar
Periya Karuppa Thevar (1936 - 18 September 2012) was a Tamil film character artiste and folk singer who appeared in Tamil-language films. Film career PKT was part of the drama troupe floated by veteran Sankaradoss Swamigal more than fifty years ago. Like many actors of his era, he had made the grade to films as an actor after toiling hard on stage where he used to be quite popular for his acting as well as in singing many folk songs. His film career has spanned many decades in which he had starred in more than 200 films including a memorable role in Bharathiraaja's Mann Vasanai and in Gangai Amaren's Karagattakkaran which had memorable songs by Ilaiyaraaja. ''Arjunan Kadhali'' () is an unreleased Tamil language film directed by Parthy Baskar, nephew of composer Ilayaraja who earlier directed ''Bambara Kannaley''. Suruli Rajan was a Tamil film comedian/character artiste. He was a recipient of Tamil Nadu State Government's Best Comedian Award for the year 1981–82. Biography Suruli Rajan was born in 1938 in Periyakulam, near Theni. His father ''Ponnaiya Pillai'' worked as an accountant for farm owners of the adjoining areas in Theni.
