Masanori Murakami
Masanori "Mashi" Murakami (村上 雅則, ''Murakami Masanori'', born May 6, 1944) is a retired Japanese baseball player. He is notable for being the first Japanese player to play for a Major League Baseball team. Sent over to the United States by the Nankai Hawks, Murakami saw success as a reliever for the San Francisco Giants, debuting at the age of 20 in . In , he struck out over one batter per inning pitched, posted an ERA under 4 and earned eight saves. Following this season, however, Murakami headed back to his original Japanese club due to contractual obligations, where his success continued for another 17 years. Mai Murakami
is a retired Japanese artistic gymnast and Olympic medalist. She is the 2017 World Champion and 2021 World Champion on floor exercise, the 2018 World all-around silver medalist and floor exercise bronze medalist, and a four-time Japanese national all-around champion (2016–2018, 2020). She represented Japan at the 2016 and 2020 Olympics, winning a bronze medal on floor exercise in the latter. This made her the first female Japanese gymnast to win an individual medal at the Olympics. Personal life Murakami was born in Sagamihara, Japan and began gymnastics when she was two years old. Tetsuji Murakami ( ja, 村上 哲次; March 31, 1927 – 24 January 1987) was an early karate representative to Europe. Early life He was born in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan, in 1927. was a Japanese samurai and naval commander of Mōri clan in the Sengoku period. He was head of the Noshima Murakami pirates. History In 1555, "Noshima Murakami" navy helped the Mōri clan and played an important role during the Battle of Miyajima. In 1561, Takeyoshi fought at the Siege of Moji against combined navy of the Ōtomo clan and Portuguese traders under Ōtomo Sōrin. In 1576, during Ishiyama Hongan-ji War, Takeyoshi's eldest son, Motoyoshi, led the Murakami navy to defeat Oda Nobunaga`s navy in the first battle of Kizugawaguchi.
