Bernhard Münz
Bernhard Münz (1 February 1856 – 17 December 1919) was an Austrian writer, philosopher, and librarian. Biography He was born in Leipnik (now Lipník, Czech Republic) to Jewish parents Johanna () and Jakob Münz. His younger brother was journalist . Münz studied classical philology and philosophy at the Universities of Vienna, Innsbruck, and Munich, completing a Ph.D. at the former in 1877 under the supervision of Franz Brentano. After working briefly at the university library in Graz, he became in 1889 amanuensis in the library of the Israelitische Kultusgemeinde Wien, and succeeded Samuel Hammerschlag as its director in 1900. He wrote magazine articles for various publications, including ''Ost und West'', the ''Allgemeine Zeitung des Judentums'', the ''Neue Freie Presse'', and ''Deutschland''. Peter Munz
Peter Munz (12 May 1921 – 14 October 2006) was a philosopher and historian, Professor of the Victoria University of Wellington; among the major influences on his work were Karl Popper and Ludwig Wittgenstein. Mieczysław Munz
Mieczysław Munz (October 31, 1900, Kraków – August 25, 1976) was a Polish-American pianist. Munz trained in Vienna and Berlin, with Ferruccio Busoni. He was a teacher of Emanuel Ax, Walter Hautzig, David Oei, Ann Schein, Virginia Reinecke, Adolovni Acosta, and Iravati M. Sudiarso. He left concertizing in the early 1940s after developing physical problems with his right hand. His ex-wife was Aniela (Nela) Młynarska (daughter of Emil Młynarski), who later married Arthur Rubinstein. Moses Münz
Moses Münz (; – 15 August 1831), also known as Maharam Mintz () was a Hungarian rabbi. He served as chief rabbi of Alt-Ofen (Óbuda) from 1790 until his death. Early life and education Münz was born in Minkowitz around 1750. He studied under Meshullam Egra of Tysmienitz before living for several years in Brody, where he headed a yeshiva and acquired a great reputation as a Talmudical scholar. Rabbinic career At the recommendation of Ezekiel Landau, he was called in 1790 to the chief rabbinate of Alt-Ofen, which had been vacant since the death of Nathan Günsburger in 1781. In 1793 he was appointed chief rabbi of the county of Pest. Münz's learning spread the reputation of the congregation far beyond the confines of Hungary, and he represented the community at all royal ceremonies. Maestrani
Maestrani is a Swiss chocolate producer based in Flawil (St. Gallen). It was founded in 1852 in Lucerne by Aquilino Maestrani (1814 - 1880), a Ticinese chocolatier from Aquila. The company became prosperous after it was moved to St. Gallen in 1859. The company also owns two other chocolate brands: Minor and Munz. History Ludovico "Aquilino" Maestrani came from Aquila in the Blenio Valley. He had learned the art of chocolate making from his father Giusepe in Lugano. After travelling throughout Italy and Germany from 1846-1852, he opened his first shop on Krongasse in Lucerne in 1852. in 1859 Maestrani moved his business to Multergasse in St. Gallen and to advertise his products, he bult the so-called "marble house" in the middle of the old town.
