The Region of Southern Denmark ( da, Region Syddanmark, ; german: Region Süddänemark, ; frr, Regiuun Syddanmark) is an administrative Regions of Denmark, region of Denmark established on Monday 1 January 2007 as part of the 2007 Danish Municipal Reform, which abolished the traditional counties of Denmark, counties ("amter") and set up five larger regions. At the same time, smaller List of municipalities of Denmark, municipalities were merged into larger units, cutting the number of municipalities from 271 before 1 January 2007 to 98. Statistics Denmark
Statistics Denmark ( da, Danmarks Statistik) is a Danish governmental organization under the Ministry of the Interior and Housing and which reports to the Minister of Economic and Internal Affairs. Funen
Funen ( da, Fyn, ), with an area of , is the third-largest island of Denmark, after Zealand and Vendsyssel-Thy. It is the 165th-largest island in the world. It is located in the central part of the country and has a population of 469,947 as of 2020. Funen's main city is Odense, which is connected to the sea by a seldom-used canal. Munkebo Municipality
Until 1 January 2007 Munkebo municipality was a municipality (Danish, '' kommune'') in former Funen County on the northeast coast of the island of Funen in central Denmark. The municipality covered an area of 19 km2, and had a total population of 5,720 (2005). Its last mayor was Palle Hansborg-Sørensen, a member of the Social Democrats (Denmark) (''Socialdemokraterne'') political party. The main city and the site of its municipal council was the town of Munkebo. The municipality was created in 1970 as the result of a ("Municipality Reform") from Munkebo Parish (Bjerge Herred). Munkebo municipality ceased to exist as the result of ''Kommunalreformen'' ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007). Odense Steel Shipyard
Odense Steel Shipyard ( da, Odense Staalskibsværft) was a Danish shipyard company located in Odense. It was best known for building container ships for its parent group, A.P. Moller – Maersk Group, including the Mærsk E class in 2006 which at the time were the biggest container ships in the world. The global financial crisis led to Maersk announcing its closure in 2009 and the last new ship was delivered in January 2012. Company history The first yard was opened in 1918–1919 by the A.P. Morten Mabunda Lindberg (; 23 September 1965 – 26 March 2019), also known as "Master Fatman", was a Danish media personality and creative, including comedian, taxi driver, performer, disc jockey, host, musician, singer, film maker, actor, and benefactor. In 2010, Lindberg married Herminia Mabunda from Mozambique and adopted her surname. He had five children. Master Fatman died unexpectedly on March 26, 2019. He was 53. Casper Lindholm Christensen (born 22 August 1968) is a Danish comedian.
