The Municipality of Medvode (; sl, Občina Medvode) is a municipality in the traditional region of Upper Carniola in north-central Slovenia. The seat of the municipality is the town of Medvode. Medvode became a municipality in 1994. Topol pri Medvodah () is a small settlement in the Municipality of Medvode in the Upper Carniola region of Slovenia. It lies in the hills northwest of the Slovene capital Ljubljana and is a popular destination for short trips with locals. Name The name of the settlement was changed from ''(Sveta) Katarina nad Medvodami'' (literally, ' Saint Catherine above Medvode') to ''Topol'' (literally, ' poplar') in 1955.
