The City Municipality of Nova Gorica (; sl, Mestna občina Nova Gorica) is a municipality in the traditional region of the Slovene Littoral in western Slovenia. The seat of the municipality is the city of Nova Gorica. Nova Gorica became a municipality in 1994. Dornberk
Dornberk (; it, Montespino) is a village in western Slovenia in the Municipality of Nova Gorica. It is located in the Vipava Valley within the ''Goriška'' region of the Slovenian Littoral. Dornberk is the centre of a local community that includes the satellite settlements of Potok pri Dornberku, Saksid, Brdo, Tabor, Draga, Zalošče, and Budihni. The entire local community has a population of around 1,800. Name The Slovene name of the village comes from German ''Dornberg'', meaning 'thorn hill'. Lokve, Nova Gorica
Lokve (; it, Loqua) is a village in western Slovenia in the Municipality of Nova Gorica. It is located on the Trnovo Forest Plateau, above the Vipava Valley in the Gorizia region of the Slovene Littoral. It is a popular tourist center, serving as a summer resort for people from the towns of Nova Gorica and Gorizia (Italy). Škol Hill (; ) rises north of Lokve. Mass grave Lokve is the site of a former mass grave from the Second World War. The Lokve Mass Grave ( sl, Grobišče Lokve) is located in a depression near house no. 43 in the village. Kromberk
Kromberk (; it, Moncorona, german: Cronberg bei Görz) is a settlement in the Municipality of Nova Gorica in western Slovenia. Together with its two satellite settlements of Ajševica and Loke, it forms one of the four major suburbs of Nova Gorica (the others being Solkan, Rožna Dolina, and Pristava). Name Kromberk was attested in written sources circa 1200 as ''In Lite'' and circa 1370 as ''in Strania''. Grgar (; it, Gargaro) is a village in western Slovenia in the Municipality of Nova Gorica. It is located under Holy Mount ( sl, Sveta gora), above the Soča Valley and below the Banjšice Plateau. Name Grgar was mentioned in written sources 1370 as ''Gaergaer'' and in 1389 as ''Grêgôr''. For phonological and morphological reasons, the latter transcription appears to be a hypercorrection and not connected with Saint Gregory or the name ''Gregor'' 'Gregory'.
