Mungo Haldane
Mungo Haldane ( – 1 June 1755) was a Scottish politician who sat in the House of Commons intermittently between 1715 and 1727. Haldane was the eldest son of John Haldane MP of Gleneagles and his wife Mary Drummond, daughter of David Drummond, 3rd Lord Maderty. Haldane was returned unopposed as Member of Parliament (MP) for Stirlingshire at the 1715 general election. At the 1722 general election he was elected instead as MP for Dunbartonshire Dunbartonshire ( gd, Siorrachd Dhùn Breatann) or the County of Dumbarton is a historic county, lieutenancy area and registration county in the west central Lowlands of Scotland lying to the north of the River Clyde. John Drummond, 10th Of Lennoch
John Drummond (died 1752), 10th of Lennoch and 3rd of Megginch Castle in Perthshire, was a Scottish Member of Parliament. He was the oldest son of Adam Drummond of Megginch (1649-1709), 9th of Lennoch and his wife Alison, daughter of John Hay of Haystoun. His father was a member of the Scottish Parliament and a member of the Privy Council of Scotland. His brother Adam Drummond (1679-1758) a surgeon-apothecary in Edinburgh became (jointly) the first Professor of Anatomy at the University of Edinburgh. Career At the 1727 general election he was elected as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Perthshire, defeating the sitting MP Mungo Haldane. The election was closely fought, and was decided by a circle centred on Robert Craigie, who chose Drummond, the favoured candidate of the 2nd Duke of Atholl. The Hon. John Campbell (c. 1660 – 9 April 1729), of Mamore, was a Scottish Whig politician who sat in the Parliament of Scotland from 1700 to 1707 and in the British House of Commons between 1708 and 1727. Early life Campbell was the second son of Archibald Campbell, 9th Earl of Argyll, and his wife Lady Mary Stewart, daughter of the 4th Earl of Moray. He was educated at Glasgow in 1676. Sir Hugh Paterson, 2nd Baronet (circa 1685 – 23 March 1777) was a Scottish Jacobite and Member of the Parliament of Great Britain. The son of Sir Hugh Paterson, 1st Baronet by his wife Barbara, daughter of Sir William Ruthven of Dunglass and Katherine, daughter of William Douglas, 1st Marquess of Douglas, he succeeded his father as second Baronet, of Bannockburn, on 21 December 1701. From 1710 to 1715 he was Member of Parliament for Stirlingshire. On 21 February 1712 he married Lady Jean Erskine, daughter of Charles Erskine, Earl of Mar. The 1727 British general election returned members to serve in the House of Commons of the 7th Parliament of Great Britain to be summoned, after the merger of the Parliament of England and the Parliament of Scotland in 1707.
