Muminjon Abdullaev
Muminjon Abdullaev (born 24 December 1989) is an Uzbekistani Greco-Roman wrestler. Career He who won a bronze medal at the 2010 Asian Wrestling Championships in the 96 kg division. He competed in the 120 kg event at the 2012 Summer Olympics and was eliminated in the 1/8 finals by Dremiel Byers. Later in 2012 Abdullaev tested positive for nandrolone, an anabolic steroid, and was banned for two years until 20 November 2014. In 2021, he competed in the men's 130 kg event at the 2020 Summer Olympics held in Tokyo, Japan. In 2022, he won one of the bronze medals in his event at the Vehbi Emre & Hamit Kaplan Tournament held in Istanbul, Turkey. Dremiel Byers
Dremiel Byers (born September 11, 1974) is an American former wrestler in the Greco-Roman discipline. Byers joined the World Class Athletes Program (WCAP) in 1996 and was the 2002 World Champion in Greco-Roman wrestling at 120 kg. In total, Byers won three World medals and was a two-time Olympian. He was inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame as a Distinguished Member in 2021. Early life and education Dremiel Byers was born in Newark, New Jersey. He was raised by a single mother in Kings Mountain, North Carolina. Byers carries a childhood nickname, "Bam" or "Big Bam" to the current day. Byers earned this nickname from when he was a toddler, carrying a 1-pound dumbbell as a toy. He attended Kings Mountain High School, where he was an All-State wrestler, and the 1993 North Carolina heavyweight wrestling state champion. This Greco-Roman wrestling competition consists of a single-elimination tournament, with a repechage used to determine the winner of two bronze medals. The two finalists face off for gold and silver medals. Each wrestler who loses to one of the two finalists moves into the repechage, culminating in a pair of bronze medal matches featuring the semifinal losers each facing the remaining repechage opponent from their half of the bracket. Each bout consists of up to three rounds, lasting two minutes apiece. 2022 World Wrestling Championships
The 2022 World Wrestling Championships was the 17th edition of the World Wrestling Championships of combined events and was held between 10 and 18 September 2022 in Belgrade, Serbia. The UWW Bureau approved the candidature of Belgrade, Serbia as the host of the 2023 Senior World Championships. However, due to the restrictions on Russia for hosting World Championships in 2021–2022, Belgrade replaced the former city of Krasnoyarsk as the World Championships host for 2022. For 2023 the World Championships host will be reallocated to Russia. In addition, Russian and Belarusian athletes have been banned from 2022 World Championships.
