Garth Mulroy
Garth David Mulroy (born 8 July 1978) is a South African professional golfer. Amateur career Mulroy was born in Durban. He attended college in the United States at North Carolina State University, where he was an NCAA Division I All-American. He turned professional in 2002. Professional career Mulroy has predominantly tried to make his way as a professional in the United States, and has collected several victories on various mini-tours. He finished tied for 64th at the PGA Tour qualifying school at the end of 2006, earning a place on the Nationwide Tour for 2007. He has played on the second tier United States based tour since then, winning for the first time in April 2009 when he secured a one stroke victory over Chris Tidland at the South Georgia Classic. James Mulroy
James Mulroy (17 August 1899 – 7 August 1986), was an Irish police officer (Garda 1264) who was the first recipient of the Scott Medal. Background Mulroy was born at Coolkevane, Straide, County Mayo. Prior to joining the Garda Síochána on 19 May 1922, he had been a labourer. Incident near Broadford Mulroy's first posting was to Broadford, County Clare. On 23 May 1923, he and a colleague, some four miles from the station, were waylaid by two armed robbers. The Gardaí were told to surrender all possessions, including their uniforms. Mulroy refused. He was taken to a deserted laneway to be murdered; en route he refused to move another step, challenging the robbers to shoot him where he stood. One of the robbers placed a revolver against his chest and gave him five minutes to change his mind. During that course of time the robber became distracted, and Mulroy was able to overpower him. Jimmy Mulroy
James Mulroy (1 August 1940 – 12 February 2013) was an Irish Gaelic footballer, manager and politician. He played as a right wing-forward for the Louth senior team. Mulroy made his first appearance for the team during the 1959 championship and was a regular member of the starting fifteen until his retirement after the 1972 championship. During that time he found little success on the inter-county scene. At club level Mulroy had a lengthy career with Newtown Blues winning nine county club championship medals. In retirement from playing Mulroy became involved in coaching and team management. He found little success during his two stints as Louth manager, however, he successfully managed Oliver Plunkett's to junior and intermediate championships. Mulroy also coached various teams with his own Newtown Blues club. Michael Patrick Mulroy is the former United States Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense (DASD) for the Middle East, serving under Secretary James N. Mattis and Secretary Mark T. Esper. He was responsible for representing the United States Department of Defense (DoD) for defense policy and for Middle East policy in the interagency.
