Ryta
The Ryta ( be, Рыта) is a river in Belarus, a left tributary of the Mukhavets. Previously, the source of the river was Lake Krymne ({{coord, 51.5724, 23.9821) in the Volyn region of Ukraine; however, after reclamation work, the source of the river is now located at the village of Sushytnitsa. The river flows through the territory of the Malorita, Brest and Zhabinka districts of the Brest region. The length is 62 km, the basin area is 1730 km2. It discharges into the Mukhavets near the village of Lytvyny. Part of the flow goes to Lukovskoe reservoir. Kobryn ( be, Кобрын; russian: Кобрин; pl, Kobryń; lt, Kobrynas; uk, Кобринь, Kobryn'; yi, קאָברין) is a city in the Brest Region of Belarus and the center of the Kobryn District. BGN/PCGN Romanization Of Belarusian
The BGN/PCGN romanization system for Belarusian is a method for romanization of Cyrillic Belarusian texts, that is, their transliteration into the Latin alphabet. There are a number of systems for romanization of Belarusian, but the BGN/PCGN system is relatively intuitive for anglophones to pronounce. It is part of the larger set of BGN/PCGN romanizations, which includes methods for 29 different languages. It was developed by the United States Board on Geographic Names and by the Permanent Committee on Geographical Names for British Official Use. The portion of the system pertaining to the Belarusian language was jointly adopted by BGN and PCGN in 1979.
