Muhanga
Muhanga (former Gitarama, renamed in 2006) is a city in Rwanda, in the Muhanga District, in Southern Province. The city is above sea level. Though officially part of the Southern Province, Muhanga is geographically in central Rwanda, approximately by road southwest of Kigali, Rwanda's capital and largest city. This location lies approximately , north of Kibeho, in Nyaruguru District, the southernmost district in Southern Province. Muhanga is a district (''akarere'') in Rwanda. Its administrative centre is located in the city of Muhanga (former Gitarama). Zipline is an American company that designs, manufactures, and operates delivery drones. The company operates distribution centers in Rwanda, Ghana, Japan, the United States, and Nigeria, with signed agreements to begin service in Cote d'Ivoire, and Kenya. As of April 2022, its drones have made over 20 million miles of flights across 275,000 commercial deliveries. The company's drones deliver whole blood, platelets, frozen plasma, and cryoprecipitate along with medical products, including vaccines, infusions, and common medical commodities. Nyanza, also known as Nyabisindu, is a town located in Nyanza District in the Southern Province of Rwanda. Nyanza is the capital of the Southern Province. History Nyanza was the capital of the Kingdom of Rwanda from 1958 to 1962. In 1994, during the late stages of the Rwandan Civil War, the Rwandan Patriotic Front fought the Rwandan Armed Forces at Nyanza for several days, partially destroying the town.
