Muhammet Akdeniz
Muhammet Akdeniz is a Turkish freestyle wrestler competing in the 79 kg division. He is a member of Ankara İlbank. Career In 2022, he won one of the bronze medals in the men's 79 kg event at the 2022 European Wrestling Championships held in Budapest, Hungary. Muhammet Akdeniz reached the semifinals by beating Stanislav Novac of Moldova 6-1 in the first round and Saifedine Alekma of France 5-3 in the quarterfinals. In the semifinals, he lost to the Greek Georgios Kougioumtsidis, and in the third place match he defeated the Latvian Alans Amirovs 8-4 to win the bronze medal. He won the silver medal in the men's 79 kg event at the 2021 Islamic Solidarity Games held in Konya, Turkey. Bayburt
Bayburt () is a city in northeast Turkey lying on the Çoruh River and is the provincial capital of Bayburt Province. According to the 2021 census the population is determined as around 82,274. 2022 World Wrestling Championships
The 2022 World Wrestling Championships was the 17th edition of the World Wrestling Championships of combined events and was held between 10 and 18 September 2022 in Belgrade, Serbia. The UWW Bureau approved the candidature of Belgrade, Serbia as the host of the 2023 Senior World Championships. However, due to the restrictions on Russia for hosting World Championships in 2021–2022, Belgrade replaced the former city of Krasnoyarsk as the World Championships host for 2022. For 2023 the World Championships host will be reallocated to Russia. In addition, Russian and Belarusian athletes have been banned from 2022 World Championships. The men's freestyle 79 kilograms is a competition featured at the 2022 World Wrestling Championships, and was held in Belgrade, Serbia on 15 and 16 September 2022. This freestyle wrestling competition consists of a single-elimination tournament, with a repechage used to determine the winner of two bronze medals. The two finalists face off for gold and silver medals. Each wrestler who loses to one of the two finalists moves into the repechage, culminating in a pair of bronze medal matches featuring the semifinal losers each facing the remaining repechage opponent from their half of the bracket. 2021 Islamic Solidarity Games
The 2021 Islamic Solidarity Games ( tr, 2021 İslami Dayanışma Oyunları) were the 5th edition of the event held from 9 to 18 August 2022 at Konya, Turkey under the aegis of Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation (ISSF). It was the first time in history that the event was organised by the Turkish Olympic Committee. Formerly scheduled to take place from 20 to 29 August 2021, the event was postponed to be held from 10 to 19 September 2021 in July 2020 by the ISSF because the original dates were coinciding with the 2020 Summer Olympics, which were postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
