Muhammad Salim Qasmi
Muhammad Salim Qasmi Siddiqi (8 January 1926 — 14 April 2018) was an Indian Muslim scholar who co-founded the Darul Uloom Waqf in Deoband and served as its first rector. He was an alumnus of Darul Uloom Deoband. He received the fourth Shah Waliullah Award and was honoured with the Mark of Distinction from Egypt. Biography Muhammad Salim Qasmi was born on 8 January 1926 at Deoband into the Siddiqi family of Nanauta. He was the eldest son of Muhammad Tayyib Qasmi. Qasmi graduated from Darul Uloom Deoband in 1948 where his teachers included Hussain Ahmed Madani, Izaz Ali Amrohi, Ibrahim Balyawi and Syed Fakhrul Hasan Moradabadi. He studied ''Mizan'', a book of Arabic grammar with Ashraf Ali Thanwi. He was appointed as a teacher at Darul Uloom Deoband in 1949. In 1982, along with Anzar Shah Kashmiri, he co-founded Darul Uloom Waqf, Deoband and remained its chief rector. Izaz Ali Amrohi
Izaz Ali Amrohi ( ur, ; November 1882 – 1955) was an Indian Islamic scholar who served as the second and ninth Grand Mufti of the Darul Uloom Deoband. His book ''Nafahtul Arab'' is taught in madrassas including the Darul Uloom Deoband. Biography Izaz Ali Amrohi was born in November 1882 in Amroha. He studied Quran with Qutbuddin, and memorized it under the supervision of Hafiz Sharfuddin. He learnt Persian from his father and studied primary books of dars-e-nizami at Madrasa Arbi Gulshan Faiz in Tilhar with Maqsood Ali Khan. He then moved to Madrasa Ayn-ul-Ilm, where he studied ''Mulla Jami'' and ''Kanzud Daqaiq'' with Qari Basheer Ahmad and Persian and Fiqh books such as ''Sharah Wiqayah'' with Kifayatullah Dihlawi. Deobandis
Deobandi is a Islamic revival, revivalist movement within Sunni Islam, adhering to the Hanafi school of law, formed in the late 19th century around the Darul Uloom Deoband, Darul Uloom Madrassa in Deoband, India, from which the name derives, by Muhammad Qasim Nanautavi, Rashid Ahmad Gangohi, and several others, after the Indian Rebellion of 1857, Indian Rebellion of 1857–58. The movement pioneered education in religious sciences through the ''Dars-i-Nizami'' associated with the Lucknow-based ''ulema'' of Firangi Mahal with the goal of preserving traditional Islamic teachings from the influx of modernist, secular ideas during British Raj, British colonial rule. Akhtarul Wasey
Akhtarul Wasey (born 1 September 1951) is the president of Maulana Azad University, Jodhpur, India, and a former professor of Islamic Studies. He taught at Jamia Millia Islamia (Central University) in New Delhi, where he remains professor emeritus in the Department of Islamic Studies. Early life and education Wasey was born on September 1, 1951, in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh to Hairat bin Wahid and Shahida Hairat. He is the oldest of six children. Wasey attended Primary School No. 16, the City High School of Aligarh Muslim University, and Aligarh Muslim University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) in Islamic studies in 1971, a Bachelor of Theology in 1975, a Master of Theology in 1976, and a Master of Arts in Islamic studies in 1977. Jamia Millia Islamia () is a central university located in New Delhi, India. Originally established at Aligarh, United Provinces (present-day Uttar Pradesh, India) during the British Raj in 1920, it moved to its current location in Okhla in 1935. It was given the deemed status by University Grants Commission in 1962. On 26 December 1988, it became a central university. The foundation committee of the university included Abdul Bari Firangi Mahali, Hussain Ahmad Madani, Muhammad Iqbal, Sanaullah Amritsari, Syed Mehmood and others. Islamic Fiqh Academy (IFA) of India is a Deobandi fiqh organization. It was established in 1988 in New Delhi under the guidance of Mujahidul Islam Qasmi. Darul Uloom Nadwatul Ulama
Darul Uloom Nadwatul Ulama (translated as, House of Knowledge and Assembly of Scholars University) is an Islamic seminary in Lucknow, India.
