Muhammad Naji Al-Otari Government
The Muhammad Naji al-Otari government was the second Syrian government formed during the presidency of Bashar al-Assad. It was announced on 10 September 2003, by Prime Minister Muhammad Mustafa Mero. Bouthaina Shaaban ( ar, بثينة شعبان) (born 1953 in Homs, Syria) is a Syrian politician and political and media adviser to the President of Syria, Bashar al-Assad. Shaaban served as the first Minister of Expatriates for the Syrian Arab Republic, between 2002 and 2008, and has been described as the Syrian government's face to the outside world. Hasan Turkmani
Hasan Ali Turkmani ( ar, حسن توركماني; 27 January 1935 – 18 July 2012) was a prominent Syrian military commander and Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party member. He served as the minister of defense in Syria from 2004 to 2009. He and three other top Syrian government officials were killed on 18 July 2012 in Damascus during a bomb attack. The People's Assembly ( ar, مَجْلِس الشَّعْب, ) is Syria's legislative authority. It has 250 members elected for a four-year term in 15 multi-seat constituencies. There are two main political fronts; the National Progressive Front and Popular Front for Change and Liberation. The 2012 elections, held on 7 May, resulted in a new parliament that, for the first time in four decades, is based on a multi-party system. The Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) ( ar, الهلال الأحمر العربي السوري ''Al-Hilal al-Aḥmar al-Arabi al-Souri'') is a humanitarian nonprofit organization. Ahmad Hassan (born 1947) is a Syrian diplomat and politician who served as information minister from 2003 to 2004. Early life Hassan hails from an Alawi family based in Tartous. Ali Hammoud ( ar, علي حمود, born 1944) is a former Syrian intelligence officer and general who served as minister of interior from 2001 to 2004. Early life Hammoud was born in Homs into an Alawite family in 1944. Career Hammoud served as head of the general security administration and involved in suppressing the Islamic revolt during the period of 1976–1982.
