Muhammad Mafidur Rahman
Air Vice Marshal Muhammad Mafidur Rahman is a Bangladesh Air Force officer and Incumbent Chairman of Civil Aviation Authority, Bangladesh. Prior to this appointment, he was the air officer commanding at two important air bases namely BAF Base Bangabandhu, Kurmitola, Dhaka and BAF Base Zahurul Haque, Patenga, Chattogram. Career The Air Vice Marshal was enrolled at the Bangladesh Air Force Academy in 1983 and was commissioned in 1985 from BAF Academy in General Duties (Pilot) branch. At Un peacekeeping mission, he served as Military Observer in Macedonia in 1998 and as Contingent Commander of Aviation Units in DR Congo in 2005 and 2012. By dint of his current appointment he is Board of Directors of Biman Bangladesh Airlines. Air Vice Marshal
Air vice-marshal (AVM) is a two-star air officer rank which originated in and continues to be used by the Royal Air Force. The rank is also used by the air forces of many countries which have historical British influence and it is sometimes used as the English translation of an equivalent rank in countries which have a non-English air force-specific rank structure. Air vice-marshal is a two-star rank and has a NATO ranking code of OF-7. It is equivalent to a rear-admiral in the Royal Navy or a major-general in the British Army or the Royal Marines. Rear admiral is a senior naval flag officer rank, equivalent to a major general and air vice marshal and above that of a commodore and captain, but below that of a vice admiral. It is regarded as a two star "admiral" rank. It is often regarded as a two-star rank with a NATO code of OF-7. Mohammad Musa is a two star military admiral of Bangladesh Navy. He is the incumbent Vice Chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University. Prior to joining here, he served as the Chairman of Mongla Port Authority. Prior to this appointment, he was Commander of Khulna Naval Area.
