Mudashiru Obasa
Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa (born 11 November 1972) is a Nigerian lawyer, politician, member of All Progressives Congress and incumbent Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly. Early life He was born in Agege, a town in Lagos State southwestern Nigeria. He had his primary education at St Thomas Acquinas Pry School, Surulere, Lagos before he proceeded to Archbishop Aggey Memorial Secondary school, Mushin, Ilasamaja, Lagos where he obtained the West Africa School Certificate. He received a bachelor's degree in Law from Lagos State University, Lagos in the year 2006. Political career In 1999, Mudashiru contested the seat of councilor at Agege local government under the Alliance for Democracy party and won, which he served between 1999 and 2002. He re-contested for his constituency in the 2019 state election and was re-elected as member of the Lagos State house of assembly, becoming the first to be re-elected into office three consecutive times, and a fifth term record. Lagos State House Of Assembly
The Lagos State House of Assembly is the state legislature of Lagos State. It is situated along Governor's Avenue in the state capital, Ikeja. The House of Assembly is currently under the All Progressives Congress political party which is the current ruling party in Lagos State. There have been nine different house of assemblies, the very first one was inaugurated 2 October 1979 and the present one was inaugurated 7 June 2019. There are forty members of the House of Assembly, two represent one of the twenty various local government areas in Lagos. Lekki Massacre
On the night of 20 October 2020, at about 6:50p.m., members of the Nigerian Army opened fire on unarmed End SARS protesters at the Lekki toll gate in Lagos State, Nigeria. Amnesty International stated that at least 12 protesters were killed during the shooting. A day after the incident, on 21 October, the governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-olu, initially denied reports of any loss of lives, but later admitted in an interview with a CNN journalist that "only two persons were killed". The Nigerian Army initially denied involvement in the shooting, but later stated that it had deployed soldiers to the toll gate on the orders of the governor of Lagos State. Bola Tinubu
Bola Ahmed Adekunle Tinubu (born 29 March 1952) is a Nigerian accountant and politician who served as the Governor of Lagos State from 1999 to 2007 and Senator for Lagos West during the brief Third Republic. In June 2022, he was chosen as the All Progressives Congress nominee in the 2023 Nigerian presidential election. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is a Nigerian law enforcement agency that investigates financial crimes such as advance fee fraud (419 fraud) and money laundering.
