Muangthong United Football Club ( th, สโมสรฟุตบอลเมืองทอง ยูไนเต็ด) is a Thai professional football club based in Muang Thong Thani, Nonthaburi province. The club plays in the Thai League 1. Muangthong United has participated in the Thai Premier League since 2009 after having won the Thai Division 1 League title in 2008. Muangthong United were for a period one of the richest football clubs in Thailand. The club is also known as ''The Kirins'' or ''The Twin Qilins''. The Thunderdome Stadium, is a football stadium located in Muang Thong Thani, Nonthaburi, Thailand, and is the home of Thai League 1's side, Muangthong United. The stadium was the first operate football stadium in Thailand. History Thunderdome Stadium has been the home venue of Muangthong United since 2007. Owned by Sports Authority of Thailand, rented by Muangthong United, the stadium originally known as Thunderdome Sports Complex, it opened in 1998 and had only one main stand before the Thai League 1 promotion in 2009. After the promotion to the top division of Muangthong United, the club started to develop the stadium, construct other temporary stands to hold the demands of the supporter. Attaphol Buspakom
Attaphol Buspakom ( th, อรรถพล ปุษปาคม; ), nicknamed "Tak" ( th, แต๊ก; ); 1 October 1962 – 16 April 2015) was a Thai national and football coach. He was given the role at Muangthong United and Buriram United after TTM Samut Sakhon folded after the 2009 season. He played for the Thailand national football team, appearing in several FIFA World Cup qualifying matches. Club career Attaphol began his career as a player at Thai Port FC Authority of Thailand in 1985. In his first year, he won his first championship with the club. He played for the club until 1989 and in 1987 also won the Queen's Cup. He then moved to Malaysia for two seasons for Pahang FA, then return to Thailand to his former club. 2010 Thai Premier League
The 2010 Thai Premier League was the 14th season of the Thai Premier League since its establishment in 1996. A total of 16 teams competed in the league, with Muangthong United as the defending champions. League Expansion It was announced at the end of the season that the TPL would increase the number of teams for the start of the 2011 Thai Premier League season. Therefore, at the end of season the three teams in the Thai Premier League that finished the season in the bottom three places (14th, 15th and 16th) would face the fourth, fifth and sixth teams from Division One in a promotion/relegation series. Warriors Football Club is a Singaporean professional football club that played in the Singapore Premier League, the top division of football in Singapore.
