''Iti Mrinalini'' ( bn, ইতি মৃণালিনী en, Yours, Mrinalini; en, An Unfinished Letter) is a 2011 Indian drama film directed by Bengali filmmaker Aparna Sen. Sen collaborated with Ranjan Ghosh to write both the story and the screenplay. The film was produced by Shrikant Mohta and Mahendra Soni of Shree Venkatesh Films Pvt Ltd. Some critics consider it to be among her best work, ranking with '' Mr. and Mrs. Iyer'' and ''36 Chowringhee Lane''. This was the first Bengali film Sen directed after a gap of more than a decade. Her previous film was ''Paromitar Ek Din'', in 2000. ''Iti Mrinalini'' is viewed as the director's first mainstream venture. ''Mrinalini'' is a Bengali novel written by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee. The novel was first published in 1869. This was Chatterjee's third novel, and he was 30 years old when the novel was first published. History-linking In the first decade of the 13th century, Bakhtiyar Khilji made a surprise attack on Nabadwip with only seventeen cavalry (versus eighteenth cavalry). King Lakshmana Sen was busy to eating and had no preparation for battle despite the foresight of the attack. The king fled to Vikrampur by boat with his family. Mrinalini Devi (1 March 1874 – 23 November 1902) was a translator and the wife of Nobel laureate poet, philosopher, author and musician Rabindranath Tagore. She was from the Jessor district, where her father worked at the Tagore estate. In 1883, at the age of nine, she married Tagore. Early life Mrinalini Devi was born to Benimadhob Roy Choudhury and Dakshayoni at Phultala village, in Jessor district of Bengal Presidency in British India (present-day Bangladesh). Her exact date of birth is not known. According to one estimate of a biographer, she was born on 1 March 1874. Another gave her birth as 1872. Mrinalini Vikram Sarabhai (11 May 1918 – 21 January 2016) was an Indian classical dancer, choreographer and instructor. She was the founder and director of the Darpana Academy of Performing Arts, an institute for imparting training in dance, drama, music and puppetry, in the city of Ahmedabad. She received Padma Bhushan in 1992 and Padma Shri in 1965. She also received many other citations in recognition of her contribution to art. Mrinalini Sinha (born February 27, 1960) is the Alice Freeman Palmer Professor in the Department of History and Professor (by courtesy) in the Departments of English and Women's Studies of the University of Michigan. Mrinalini Mukherjee (1949 – 15 February 2015) was an Indian sculptor. Known for her distinctly contemporary style and use of dyed and woven hemp fibre, an unconventional material for sculpting, she had a career lasting over four decades from the 1970s to the 2000s.
