The Mrežnica () is a river in Karlovac County, Croatia. It is long and its basin covers an area of . Mrežnica is considered special due to its large number of waterfalls, totalling 93. It rises in Kordun, west of Slunj, and flows northwards, in parallel to Dobra and Korana, through Generalski Stol and Duga Resa, when it finally flows into the Korana in the south of Karlovac (at Mostanje/ Turanj). Duga Resa
Duga Resa is a town in Karlovac County, Croatia. It is located about 65 km southwest of Zagreb and 100 km east of Rijeka. Name The earliest reference to Duga Resa is from the year 1380. There are several theories on how the then-village acquired its name: one is that "resa" is a reference to the town people's folk costumes; another is that it is named from a native plant that grows in the area, both on the land and in the water. Population The village soon grew into a town during the industrialization of the area in the late 19th and early 20th century. Its name is the feminine form of the Croatian adjective meaning "good" but it is over simplistic folk etymology. Dobra rises in Gorski Kotar near Skrad and Ravna Gora, where it flows first to the north and then turns to the east. Korana
The Korana is a river in central Croatia and west Bosnia and Herzegovina. The river has a total length of and watershed area of . The river's name is derived from Proto-Indo-European ''*karr-'' 'rock'. It was recorded in the 13th century as ''Coranna'' and ''Corona''. Korana rises in the eastern parts of Lika and creates the Plitvice Lakes, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Downstream from Plitvice Lakes, the Korana river forms a 25 kilometers long border between Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina near Cazin. Gojak Hydroelectric Power Plant
Gojak Hydroelectric Power Plant is a hydroelectric power plant on river Dobra, near the town of Ogulin, in Karlovac County, Croatia. Its total capacity is 55.5 MW. The Gojak Hydroelectric Power Plant is a high pressure diversion plant which harnesses the river power of the Ogulinska Dobra and Zagorska Mrežnica rivers. It is operated by the Croatian state-owned electrical company, Hrvatska elektroprivreda. Another lake is formed by the river Dobra just before it plunges into Đula's abyss. Namely, somewhere around one kilometer away from the center of Ogulin, a dam was built on the river Dobra, and in this way another artificial lake, Bukovnik, was created. From that lake, water is drained through channels up to 30 kilometers long to the Gojak Hydroelectric Power Station, where we use it to obtain electricity. Kordun
The Kordun () region is a part of central Croatia from the bottom of the Petrova Gora (Peter's mountain) mountain range, which extends along the rivers Korana and Slunjčica, and forms part of the border region to Bosnia and Herzegovina. Within Croatia, Kordun is bordered by the Lika region to the south and by Banovina or Banija to the east. Most of Kordun with its centre Slunj belongs to Karlovac County (Slunj, Cetingrad, Krnjak, Rakovica and Vojnić). Vrginmost belongs to Sisak-Moslavina County.
