Mr. Robinson (film)
''Mr. Robinson'' ( it, Il signor Robinson, mostruosa storia d'amore e d'avventure, also known as ''Robinson Jr.'') is a 1976 Italian comedy film directed by Sergio Corbucci. It is a parody of the Daniel Defoe's 1719 novel '' Robinson Crusoe''. Plot The Milanese fashion guru Roberto Minghelli embarks with his wife on a cruise. One morning he wakes up in a now-sunken ship but is able to escape to an island, where he finds an abandoned hut which had a famous owner, Robinson Crusoe. Although the city slicker seems to be completely unsuitable for survival on a deserted island, Roberto adapts over time to his location and even leads a relatively happy life. But then he discovers that he is not alone on the island: a pretty young native, whom he calls Friday, joins him, and things start to be more complicated. Sergio Corbucci
Sergio Corbucci (; 6 December 1926 – 1 December 1990) was an Italian film director, screenwriter and producer. He directed both very violent Spaghetti Westerns and bloodless Bud Spencer and Terence Hill action comedies. He is the older brother of screenwriter and film director Bruno Corbucci. Biography Early career Corbucci was born in Rome. He started his career by directing mostly low-budget sword and sandal movies. Among his first Spaghetti Westerns were the films ''Grand Canyon Massacre'' (1964), which he co-directed (under the pseudonym, Stanley Corbett) with Albert Band, as well as '' Minnesota Clay'' (1964), his first solo directed Spaghetti Western. ''Robinson Crusoe'' () is a novel by Daniel Defoe, first published on 25 April 1719. The first edition credited the work's protagonist Robinson Crusoe as its author, leading many readers to believe he was a real person and the book a travelogue of true incidents. Epistolary, confessional, and didactic in form, the book is presented as an autobiography of the title character (whose birth name is Robinson Kreutznaer) – a castaway who spends 28 years on a remote tropical desert island near the coasts of Venezuela and Trinidad, roughly resembling Tobago, encountering cannibals, captives, and mutineers before being rescued. The story has been thought to be based on the life of Alexander Selkirk, a Scottish castaway who lived for four years on a Pacific island called "Más a Tierra" (now part of Chile) which was renamed Robinson Crusoe Island in 1966. Paolo Villaggio
Paolo Villaggio (; 30 December 1932 – 3 July 2017) was an Italian actor, voice actor, writer, director and comedian. He is noted for the characters he created with paradoxical and grotesque characteristics: Professor Kranz, the ultra-timid Giandomenico Fracchia, and the obsequious and meek accountant Ugo Fantozzi, perhaps the favourite character in Italian comedy. He wrote several books, usually of satirical character. He also acted in dramatic roles, and appeared in several movies. Early life Paolo Villaggio was born in Genova, to Ettore Villaggio (1905–1992), a surveyor originally from Palermo, and Maria, originally from Venice, a German-language teacher. Paolo had a twin brother, Piero, who taught at the University of Pisa.
