2000 NFL Draft
The 2000 NFL Draft was the procedure by which National Football League teams selected amateur U.S. college football players. It is officially known as the NFL Annual Player Selection Meeting. The draft was held April 15– 16, 2000, at the Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York. No teams chose to claim any players in the supplemental draft that year. The draft started with Penn State teammates Courtney Brown and LaVar Arrington being selected consecutively, making them the only Penn State players to go number one and two in the same draft. Alabama Crimson Tide Football
The Alabama Crimson Tide football program represents the University of Alabama (variously Alabama, UA, or Bama) in the sport of American football. The team competes in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the Western Division of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). Boone County High School
Boone County High School is located in Florence, Kentucky, United States. The school was opened in 1954, consolidating Burlington, Florence, New Haven and Hebron High Schools. Originally, the school did not have a mascot, but after polling the first class, the students adopts the name "Rebels", taken from the 1955 film ''Rebel Without A Cause''. Sports Boone County High School is known for its athletics. Both men's and women's basketball have been among the strongest programs in the region. Baseball has also been quite strong as they won the 33rd district tournament and the 9th region tournament in 2010. The men's team once placed fourth out of five teams in a winter classic invitational tournament held in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Boone County is known for its football tradition as well. Shaun Edward Alexander (born August 30, 1977) is an American former professional football player who was a running back for the Seattle Seahawks and Washington Redskins of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Alabama Crimson Tide, and was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks 19th overall in the 2000 NFL Draft. In May 2011, he was inducted into the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame. The University of the Cumberlands is a private Christian university in Williamsburg, Kentucky. About 18,000 students are enrolled at the university. Billy Jack Haskins
Billy Jack Haskins is a former American football quarterback for the University of Kentucky from 1993 through 1996. Haskins won the Kentucky "Mr. Football" Award as a senior at Paducah Tilghman High School in 1992. At graduation, he had passed for more yardage than any player in Kentucky high school history. At Kentucky during his sophomore year Haskins beat out incumbent starter Jeff Speedy during the 1995 season, starting the final nine of Kentucky's eleven games. That year, he completed 60.4% of his passes (a school record at the time) for 1,176 yards and four touchdowns. His 47-yard touchdown run against Tennessee in which he broke several tackles gave Kentucky a 31–27 lead and won multiple "Play of the Year" awards.
