Moyna (referred to as Dakshin Moyna in census records) is a village in Moyna CD block in Tamluk subdivision of Purba Medinipur district in the state of West Bengal, India. History According to Binoy Ghosh, the ancient or even the medieval history of Moyna or Moynagarh is mired in controversy and uncertainties. Some enthusiasts of local history believe that Moyna was the birth-place and capital of Lau Sen. The question that comes up in this regard is that Lau Sen's existence is yet to be established historically. He remains a mythical king. Moyna (community Development Block)
Moyna is a community development block that forms an administrative division in Tamluk subdivision of Purba Medinipur district in the Indian state of West Bengal. Geography Purba Medinipur district is part of the upper Indo-Gangetic Plain and Eastern coastal plains. Topographically, the university can be divided into two parts – (a) almost entirely flat plains on the west, east and north, (b) the coastal plains on the south. The vast expanse of land is formed of alluvium and is composed of younger and coastal alluvial. The elevation of the district is within 10 metres above mean sea level. The district has a long coastline of 65.5 km along its southern and south eastern boundary. Five coastal CD Blocks, namely, Khejuri II, Contai II (Deshapran), Contai I, Ramnagar I and II, are occasionally affected by cyclones and tornadoes. ''ময়না (Moyna)'' is the second studio album by Bangladeshi singer-songwriter Ayub Bachchu, released on 1 December 1988 by Sargam Records. Despite his lack of success with his debut album ''" রক্ত গোলাপ (Blood Rose)"'', this album was both commercially successful and well received by fans. Bachchu got his breakthrough with this album, including hit songs like "ময়না (Moyna)", "শুভ্র ভোরে (Early in the Morning)". After Bachchu's deal with Zahed Electronics expired, he was signed to Sargam Records in late–1987. The recording sessions started in January and ended in November 1988. It features Bachchu's first lyrics "ও বন্ধু তোমায় (Oh, My Friend)". Moyna Macgill (born Charlotte Lillian McIldowie; 10 December 1895 – 25 November 1975) was an Irish actress from Belfast and the mother of actress Angela Lansbury and producers Edgar and Bruce Lansbury. In 2020, she was listed at number 35 on The Irish Times list of Ireland's greatest film actors. Early life Born Charlotte Lillian McIldowie at 42 Eglantine Avenue in south Belfast, she was the daughter of William McIldowie and Elizabeth Jane (née Mageean). Her father was a wealthy solicitor of Scottish parentage who was a director of the Grand Opera House in Belfast, a position that sparked her interest in theatrics.
