Guan Moye
Guan Moye (; born 17 February 1955), better known by the pen name Mo Yan (, ), is a Chinese novelist and short story writer. Donald Morrison of U.S. news magazine ''TIME'' referred to him as "one of the most famous, oft-banned and widely pirated of all Chinese writers", and Jim Leach called him the Chinese answer to Franz Kafka or Joseph Heller. In 2012, Mo was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature for his work as a writer "who with hallucinatory realism merges folk tales, history and the contemporary". He is best known to Western readers for his 1986 novel '' Red Sorghum'', the first two parts of which were adapted as the Golden Bear-winning film '' Red Sorghum'' (1988). Moye Kolodin
Moye Kolodin (born 5 May 1987 in Freiburg, West Germany) is a German classical pianist. Career Kolodin received his very first piano lessons at the age of seven from his mother Elza Kolodin. Kolodin won the first prize and the Sparkasse prize for Outstanding Young Talents at the Jugend Musiziert competition five years later. In 1999, he enrolled at the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg, and continued his musical studies there under the tutelage of Elza Kolodin until 2006. Kolodin participates regularly in the Master Classes of many world-renowned professors, whose names include Vitaly Margulis, Hans Leygraf, Jacques Rouvier, Dmitri Bashkirov, Joaquín Soriano and Vera Gornostayeva. Derek Moye
Derek Robert Moye (born August 12, 1988) is a former American football wide receiver. After playing college football for Penn State, he was signed by the Miami Dolphins as an undrafted free agent in 2012. Early years Moye attended Rochester Area High School in Rochester, Pennsylvania, where he was a four-sport standout. In football, he gained over 3100 rushing and receiving yards combined in his junior and senior seasons and scored 53 touchdowns. He was recruited to Penn State by Tom Bradley and committed in January 2007. He also earned first-team All-section honors in basketball and baseball. In track & field, Moye was one of the state's top sprinters. He recorded a career-best time of 11.04 seconds in the 100-meter dash at the 2006 Pennsylvania T&F State Championships, where he took 7th in the finals. Donald Moye, Jr. (born May 23, 1946), known as Famoudou Don Moye, is an American jazz percussionist and drummer. He is most known for his involvement with the Art Ensemble of Chicago and is noted for his mastery of African and Caribbean percussion instruments and rhythmic techniques. Early life and education Moye was born in Rochester, New York, United States, and performed in various drum and bugle corps (including the Rochester Crusaders) during his youth, as well as church choir. Moye has commented that he really "didn't have an affinity for the bugle… and just kind of gravitated towards drums." He also took violin lessons during this time. Moye was exposed to jazz at an early age since his mother worked for a local social club, that had a jazz club next door, which hosted musicians such as Kenny Burrell and Jimmy McGriff. Jean-Martin Moye (written later in his life as Moÿe) was a French Catholic priest who served as a missionary in China and was the founder of the Sisters of the Congregation of Divine Providence. He also organized the first expression of consecrated life among the women of China. He was beatified by the Catholic Church in 1954. Malina Moye (born August 20, 1984) is an American singer-songwriter, lefty guitarist, model, actress, entrepreneur, and pioneer who fuses rock and soul. Muhiyidin Moye
Muhiyidin El Amin Moye (April 22, 1985 – February 6, 2018), also known as Muhiyidin d'Baha, was a leading Black Lives Matter activist known nationally for crossing a yellow police tape line to snatch a Confederate battle flag from a demonstrator on live television in Charleston, South Carolina, in February 2017. Life Moye, an African-American, was born in Poughkeepsie, New York, and as a teen the family moved to Hollywood, South Carolina. He attended University of South Carolina and in 2006 suffered severe burns from an arson attack at a house he was staying at. He went on to attend Winthrop University, finishing in 2011.
