Movimiento Unión Soberanista
(MUS) (English: Sovereign Union Movement) was a Puerto Rican political party. The party was founded in October 2010 in the city of Caguas, Puerto Rico. Certification On March 20, 2012, the Puerto Rico State Commission on Elections (CEE) certified the MUS as a registered party after obtaining the 60,000 endorsements required by Puerto Rican Electoral law. Election results The MUS is currently a small third party. Its candidate for Governor of Puerto Rico, lawyer Arturo Hernández, came in fifth place in the 2012 elections with 0.56% of the vote; María de Lourdes Guzmán, the MUS's candidate for Resident Commissioner, also finished fifth with 0.62% of the vote. Sovereignty
Sovereignty is the defining authority within individual consciousness, social construct, or territory. Sovereignty entails hierarchy within the state, as well as external autonomy for states. In any state, sovereignty is assigned to the person, body, or institution that has the ultimate authority over other people in order to establish a law or change an existing law. Teal

Caguas (, ) is a city and municipality of Puerto Rico located in the Central Mountain Range of Puerto Rico, south of San Juan and Trujillo Alto, west of Gurabo and San Lorenzo, and east of Aguas Buenas, Cidra, and Cayey. Arturo Luis Hernández González is a Puerto Rican attorney who was a gubernatorial candidate in the 2012 Puerto Rican election for the Movimiento Unión Soberanista. Hernández also presided the Bar Association of Puerto Rico from 2008 to 2012. Professional career Arturo Hernández was born on February 7, 1957 in Hato Rey, Puerto Rico.
