Mount Waverley Secondary College
Mount Waverley Secondary College is a public secondary school located in the Melbourne suburb of Mount Waverley. The school consists of roughly 1900 students and is one of the largest in the state. The school consists of two campuses (junior and senior) both situated on Stephensons Road in Mount Waverley. The Junior Campus holds years 7 and 8, with year levels 9 to 12 at the Senior Campus. The campuses are a short walking distance apart. History Mount Waverley Secondary College officially opened in 1964 as Mount Waverley High School with seventy-three Form 1 pupils, six teaching staff and one staff member in the office. The school's emblem, the unicorn, represents Sir Walter Scott who authored the Waverley Novels. Mount Waverley is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, south-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Monash local government area. Peter Stephen Patrick Handscomb (born 26 April 1991) is an Australian cricketer who is the current captain for the Victoria cricket team. Daniel McKenzie (footballer)
Daniel McKenzie (born 17 May 1996) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who last played for the St Kilda Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). McKenzie was drafted with pick 22 of the 2014 National Draft from the Oakleigh Chargers. He made his debut against in round 5 of the 2015 season. Kate Eddy
Kate Eddy (born 28 December 1996) is an Australian netball player in the Suncorp Super Netball league, playing for the Melbourne Vixens. Eddy was raised in Victoria, representing the state netball team at several underage levels before going on to play for the Victorian Fury in the Australian Netball League. In 2017 she was made a training partner at the Melbourne Vixens, though moved to Sydney to play for the Swifts in the Super Netball league during the 2018 season. She made her debut for the Swifts in round 1 of the season and played all 14 matches that year and was re-signed by the club ahead of the 2019 season. Eddy also represented Australia in the 2017 Netball World Youth Cup, where she was vice-captain. Emily Whitehead (born 11 December 2000) is an Australian artistic gymnast. At the 2018 Commonwealth Games, she won a bronze medal in the team event and on the vault. She represented Australia at the 2020 Summer Olympics and is a two-time Oceanic all-around champion (2021-22). She is the 2015 Australian junior national all-around champion and a three-time national all-around medalist at the senior level (2018, 2021-22). Peter Tatchell
Peter Gary Tatchell (born 25 January 1952) is a British human rights campaigner, originally from Australia, best known for his work with LGBT social movements. Tatchell was selected as the Labour Party's parliamentary candidate for Bermondsey in 1981. He was then denounced by party leader Michael Foot for ostensibly supporting extra-Parliamentary action against the Thatcher government. Labour subsequently allowed him to stand in the 1983 Bermondsey by-election in February 1983, in which the party lost the seat to the Liberals. Skyhooks (band)
Skyhooks were an Australian rock band formed in Melbourne in March 1973 by mainstays Greg Macainsh on bass guitar and backing vocals, and Imants "Freddie" Strauks on drums. They were soon joined by Bob "Bongo" Starkie on guitar and backing vocals, and Red Symons on guitar, vocals and keyboards; and Steve Hill lead vocalist, Graeme "Shirley" Strachan became lead vocalist in March 1974. Graeme Strachan
Graeme Ronald Strachan (pronounced "Strawn") (2 January 195229 August 2001), professionally billed and known as "Shirley" Strachan or Shirl, was an Australian singer, songwriter, radio and television presenter, and carpenter. He was the lead singer of the rock group Skyhooks (1974–1978, 1983, 1984, 1990, 1994). While still a member of Skyhooks he had solo singles, which charted on the Kent Music Report, with a cover recording of Brenda Holloway's "Every Little Bit Hurts" (October 1976, No. 3) and a remake of The Miracles "Tracks of My Tears" (July 1977, top 20). After leaving Skyhooks in July 1978 he concentrated on his solo career.
