Mount Stephen Club
The Mount Stephen Club was a gentlemen's club in Montreal, located inside the George Stephen House, built in 1880-1883. Considered a lair of the wealthy community of Anglophone Montrealers, It was founded in 1926 as a private business club for men by mining magnate Noah Timmins, J.H. Maher and J.S. Dohan, and named after the house's first owner, George Stephen, 1st Baron Mount Stephen, Lord George Stephen. Drummond Street (Montreal)
Drummond Street (officially rue Drummond) is a north–south street located in Downtown Montreal, downtown Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Spanning a total of 1.2 kilometres, it links Doctor Penfield Avenue in the north and De la Gauchetière Street in the south. A mix of businesses are located on this street such as bookstores, pubs and restaurants. A branch of the YMCA and George Stephen House, the final location of the Mount Stephen Club, are also on this street. History The Scots-Quebecer businessman John Redpath (1796-1869), was a member of Montreal City Council from 1840 to 1843. Brian Mulroney
Martin Brian Mulroney ( ; born March 20, 1939) is a Canadian lawyer, businessman, and politician who served as the 18th prime minister of Canada from 1984 to 1993. Born in the eastern Quebec city of Baie-Comeau, Mulroney studied political science and law. He then moved to Montreal and gained prominence as a labour lawyer. After placing third in the 1976 Progressive Conservative leadership election, he was appointed president of the Iron Ore Company of Canada in 1977. He held that post until 1983, when he successfully became leader of the Progressive Conservatives. Louise Harel
Louise Harel (born April 22, 1946) is a Quebec politician. In 2005 she served as interim leader of the Parti Québécois following the resignation of Bernard Landry. She was also interim leader of the opposition in the National Assembly of Quebec. She represented the riding of Hochelaga-Maisonneuve in the Montreal region, and its predecessors, from 1981 to 2008. Captain (armed forces), Captain Percival Talbot "Percy" Molson, Military Cross, MC (August 14, 1880 – July 5, 1917) was a Canadians, Canadian star athlete and soldier. John Diefenbaker
John George Diefenbaker ( ; September 18, 1895 – August 16, 1979) was the 13th prime minister of Canada, serving from 1957 to 1963. He was the only Progressive Conservative party leader between 1930 and 1979 to lead the party to an election victory, doing so three times, although only once with a majority of the seats in the House of Commons. Diefenbaker was born in southwestern Ontario in the small town of Neustadt in 1895.
