Mount Scio (electoral District)
Mount Scio is a provincial electoral district in Newfoundland and Labrador. As of 2011 there are 14,482 people living in the district. Mount Scio includes part of the town of Paradise and the part of the city of St. John's. The district was created following the 2015 electoral districts boundaries review. The majority of Mount Scio was previously the district of St. John's North. The district also includes parts of the former districts of Mount Pearl North, St. John's East and Topsail. Sarah Stoodley is a Canadian politician, who was elected to the Newfoundland and Labrador House of Assembly in the 2019 Newfoundland and Labrador general election, 2019 provincial election. She represents the electoral district of Mount Scio as a member of the Newfoundland and Labrador Liberal Party. Prior to her election to the House of Assembly, Stoodley was an elected alumni representative on the Memorial University Board of Regents and a board member of the Pippy Park Commission. Dale Kirby
Dale Kirby (born May 19, 1971) is a politician who served in the Newfoundland and Labrador House of Assembly from 2011 to 2019. He served as Minister of Education and Early Childhood Development in the Ball government from 2015 to 2018. Early life Kirby was born in St. Lawrence on the Burin Peninsula. He was raised on a small farm in Lord's Cove where generations of his family have worked in inshore fishing industries. Kirby began working at an early age at ''Kirby's Store'', later ''Kirby's Kwik-Way'', a family-run grocery and convenience store. He graduated from St. Joseph's Academy in 1989. Sean Panting is a songwriter, musician and actor based in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. Career Panting is a founding member of the iconic Newfoundland bands Drive and Kelly Russell & The Planks.
