Mount Dora High School is a high school located in Mount Dora, Florida. It serves grades 9 to 12. The total enrollment of the high school is 1,228. Expansion In 1960, the former Roseborough Elementary School building became part of Mount Dora High School. Athletics The Hurricanes are the name of the athletic teams from the high school. Luke Hutchinson is the current coach of the football team. Dan Spear was the winningest football coach in Mount Dora High School's history. Mount Dora Hurricanes won 20 games in a row from 1950 to 1952 and won Central Florida Conference titles in all three years. In 1959 they won the conference title again. Mount Dora is a city in Lake County, Florida, US. As of the 2010 United States Census, 2010 census it had a population of 12,370, and in 2019 the population was estimated to be 14,516. Frederick Daniel Tyler (born March 15, 1954) is an American competitive swimmer and aquatics coach, winner of several high school and college championships and a gold medal in the 4×200-meter freestyle relay at the 1972 Summer Olympics and author. High school and Indiana University Tyler began his high school swimming at St. Andrews School, in Boca Raton, Florida, where in 1969 and 1970 he won the 400-yard freestyle and 200-yard individual medley (IM) at the state high school championships. Jason Boltus
Jason Boltus (born August 21, 1986) is a professional American football quarterback who is currently a free agent. Boltus was signed as a street free agent by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League in 2009. He played Division III college football for the Hartwick Hawks, where he was also the team's punter. College career Boltus attended University at Albany, SUNY after graduation from high school, where he continued his football career. He red-shirted as a true freshman, but transferred to Hartwick College. As a junior in 2007, Boltus won the Melberger Award as the nation's top NCAA Division III player.
