Mount Allyn is a mountain with an elevation of that is part of the Allyn Range, located within the Chichester State Forest, in the Upper Hunter region of New South Wales, Australia. Mount Allyn is located about south southwest of Careys Peak and about northeast of Muswellbrook. Snow often falls in winter. Much of the mountain is covered in Antarctic Beech cool temperate rainforest. There is dirt-road access to the peak. Xanthorrhoea Glauca
''Xanthorrhoea glauca'', known as the grass tree, is a large plant in the genus ''Xanthorrhoea'', widespread in eastern Australia. The trunk can grow in excess of 5 metres tall, and may have many branches. It is occasionally seen in large communities in nutrient rich soils. The leaves are a grey or bluish glaucous green. Two sub-species are recognised; subspecies ''angustifolia'' and ''glauca''. Mount Cabrebald
Mount Cabrebald is a mountain located within the Barrington Tops National Park, in the Upper Hunter region of New South Wales, Australia. With an elevation of above sea level, the mountain is situated north of Sydney, near Singleton. Noted for the (previously) grass covered summit in a heavily forested area. Also for the Grass Tree forest, the tall eucalyptus forest and rainforest in fire free areas. The 360 degree views from the summit are considered some of the finest in this World Heritage region. The Hunter Region, also commonly known as the Hunter Valley, is a region of New South Wales, Australia, extending from approximately to north of Sydney. Allyn Range
The Allyn Range is a mountain range in New South Wales, Australia. It is part of the Barrington Tops region and joins the Mount Royal Range on the Barrington Tops plateau to the north. High points on the range include Eremeren Point, Ben Bullen, Mount Gunama, Mount Lumeah and Mount Allyn.1:25,000 topographic map "Barrington Tops" The range is heavily forested and much of it is a wilderness area covered in Antarctic Beech cool temperate rainforest. Careys Peak
Careys Peak is a peak in the Williams Range, part of the Mount Royal Range, located in the Upper Hunter region of New South Wales, Australia. At above sea level, it is one of the higher points in Barrington Tops National Park, some north of Sydney. The peak is at the edge of the Barrington Tops plateau, within the declared wilderness of the World Heritage Gondwana Rainforests of Australia. Wilderness streams, such as the Allyn River and Williams River rise nearby. On a clear day, the higher peaks of the Blue Mountains may be seen. And looking south east, the sands of Stockton Beach on the coast may be viewed. The scenic appeal of the area is well regarded. Muswellbrook
Muswellbrook ( ) is a town in the Upper Hunter Region of New South Wales, Australia, about north of Sydney and north-west of Newcastle. Geologically, Muswellbrook is situated in the northern parts of the Sydney basin, bordering the New England region. The area is predominantly known for coal mining and horse breeding, but has also developed a reputation for gourmet food and wine production. As at June 2018 Muswellbrook has a population of 12,364.
