Motorway Cops
''Motorway Cops'' is a British documentary series broadcast on BBC One which follows Road Policing Units from various UK police forces. Concept The show follows the day-to-day role of traffic officers and the incidents they come across. The majority of filming takes place at the scene of incidents, with occasional cuts to police stations and interview rooms. Locations include Yorkshire, Cheshire, Humberside and the West Midlands. Series 1 followed Central Motorway Police Group, Cheshire Constabulary and Humberside Police, series 2, 3 and 4 followed Central Motorway Police Group, series 5 followed Central Motorway Police Group, West Yorkshire Police and Yorkshire and the Humber Regional Roads Crime Team, series 6 and 7 followed West Yorkshire Police. James Paul Theakston (born 21 December 1970) is an English television presenter, producer, and actor. He co-presented the former Saturday morning BBC One children's show ''Live & Kicking'', alongside Zoe Ball between 1996 and 1999. He co-hosted BBC One's former music programme ''Top of the Pops'' between 1998 and 2003. He currently co-hosts the national breakfast show with Amanda Holden on Heart Radio. He narrated the BBC documentary series ''Traffic Cops'' from 2003 and 2015, and again on Channel 5 from 2016 onwards. He has hosted several television programmes for the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5. Road Wars (TV Series)
''Road Wars'' is a British police reality television programme created by Raw Cut TV for British Sky Broadcasting and broadcast on Sky1 from 2003 to 2010. From Series 1 the show was narrated by actor Lee Boardman. The 2nd half of series 7 was narrated by actress Claire Goose. As of 2023, the show has reruns on Sky One, Sky Replay, Pick, Sky Witness and Sky Crime. Format Road Wars followed the work of police officers, documenting the changing tactics of criminals and the response of the UK police forces. For six seasons the show followed officers in the Thames Valley, but moved to Devon and Cornwall for the last series in 2009. The programme also features some police videos both in the UK and US. Mancunian Lee Boardman narrated the show until the second half of series 7, employing a light-hearted and pun-intended approach.
