Fatemeh Motamed-Arya ( fa, فاطمه معتمدآریا; born October 29, 1961 in Tehran) is a multi-award-winning Iranian actress. She first got involved in theater during her teen years, and received her degree in theater from Tehran Art Institute. She is one of the most significant actresses of post-revolutionary Iranian cinema and has been called "one of the most important actresses and filmmakers of Iran." She has been nominated nine times for the best actress award at the Fajr International Film Festival and won the Crystal Simorgh four times. Fereydoon Motamed, also known as Amir Fereydoun Motamed, Amir Fereydoon Motamed or Fereydoon H. Motamed, (1917 – 1993), was an internationally-known linguist and professor and a notable authority on poetic meters. He was the winner of the Louis de Broglie award, from the Académie française, and recipient of literary award "Le Grand Prix Littéraire d'Iran" from Writer's Association of French Language. Hossein Khan Motamed, M.D. (also known as Doctor Hossein Khan Motamed) (born in 1893–death in 1955) was an Iranian surgeon and founder of Motamed Hospital in Tehran, Iran. Decorated with first (1925) and second place (1917) for the Scientific Medal of Iran. Biography Early life Hossein Motamed was born February 26, 1893, in Tehran Iran. He was the son of Abdol Karim Motamed (Motamed ol Hokama) and Kokab GolSorkhi. Maurice Motamed or Morris Motamed ( fa, موریس معتمد; born 1945) is an Iranian politician who was elected in 2000 and again in 2004 as a Jewish member of the Iranian Parliament (preceded by Manuchehr Eliasi and succeeded by Siamak Moreh Sedgh), representing the Jewish community which has by Iran's constitution retained a reserved seat since the Persian Constitution of 1906.
