Mostar Youth Theatre
Mostar Youth Theatre (locally known as ''Mostarski Teatar Mladih'' or MTM) is a city-sponsored community theatre located in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina. History Theatre was founded on February 24, 1974. The work of MTM includes a practical drama education for children and young people as well as production of theatre shows. MTM offers its members training in acting, improvisation, acting games, physical theatre, movement, voice, pantomime, dance, masks, and various styles of acting. Theatre is divided into following subdivisions: a children's drama studio, youth drama group and the group for adults. The Mostar Youth Theatre used to organize the “Days of Youth Theatre” IFAP (International Festival of Authorial Poetics), which also included the educational part called " Alternative Academy". Mostar (, ; sr-Cyrl, Мостар, ) is a city and the administrative center of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, an entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the historical capital of Herzegovina. Mostar Youth Theatre 1974. is an independent community theatre group in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was founded by Sead Dulic in 2011 and is the offshoot of city-owned Mostar Youth Theatre. It was formed after the City of Mostar raised charges against former Mostar Youth Theatre director, Sead Dulic, and resolved him of his directorial duties. In 2011 Sead Dulic, along with several actors and employees, formed Mostar Youth Theatre 1974 which continued producing plays, touring shows, and holding theatre workshops. Tanja Miletić Oručević (born 6 February 1970) is a Bosnian theatre director, academic lecturer, and translator. Life and career She was born in 1970 in Sarajevo and has graduated in 1999 from the drama directing department of the AST National Academy of Theatre Arts in Kraków, Ludwig Solski State Theatre School in Cracow. She has directed more than 30 professional theatre performances in theatres of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Poland, Italy and the Czech Republic. She was the co-founder of the Independent Theatre Studio Laznia in Cracow. Some of her first projects were performances produced at Laznia: Jean Genet's “Maids” and Slobodan Šnajder's “Snaks's Skin”. Centuries before the Ottoman conquest of Bosnia, Mostar was a small hamlet situated at a strategic crossing of the Neretva river. Its hinterlands consisted of a broad agricultural plain on the west bank and steep terraces on the east bank surrounded by barren mountains. Mostar was a representative multi-ethnic and multi-cultural settlement in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which had possessed an independent political identity since the twelfth century. By the fifteenth century, most of the lands that would later become part of modern Yugoslavia were inhabited primarily by peoples of the same south Slavic heritage.
