Mosta Football Club is a Malta, Maltese football (soccer), football club from the town of Mosta. The team played four seasons in Malta's highest league 1974–75, 1987–88, 2002–03 and 2005–06. They achieved promotion to the Maltese Premier League again in 2010–11. They were the first team to score a goal in the UEFA Conference League, on a victory against Spartak Trnava in July 2021. This historic goal was scored by Evo Christ Ememe. Mosta Ground
The Charles Abela Memorial Stadium, also known as the Mosta Ground is a ground situated in Mosta, Malta. It has a total capacity of 700 with 360 seats. The stadium hosts matches from various competitions, most notably the Maltese Third Division and the Maltese First Division (women), Women Maltese First Division. Background and description The Charles Abela Memorial Stadium was upgraded and inaugurated by then Prime Minister of Malta, Lawrence Gonzi, Dr Lawrence Gonzi in November 2010. The stadium is named in honour of the late Charles Abela, who was the president of Mosta FC. The stadium comprises one stand, which runs along the whole side of the pitch. Mosta F
Mosta ( mt, Il-Mosta) is a small but densely populated city in the Northern Region of Malta. The most prominent building in Mosta is the Rotunda, a large basilica built by its parishioners' volunteer labour. It features the world's 3rd largest unsupported dome, and displays a replica of a German bombshell that famously crashed through the dome but did not detonate upon impact. Mosta celebrates the parish feast of the Assumption every 15 August. Mosta's feast day celebration is popular amongst both locals and tourists. The city is annually decorated by local parishioners and townspeople, seeking to demonstrate their affection for the city and its patron saint, weeks ahead of the public procession. 2011–12 UEFA Women's Champions League
The 2011−12 UEFA Women's Champions League was the eleventh edition of the European women's championship for football clubs. The final was held in the Olympiastadion in Munich, Germany on 17 May 2012. As in the past two Champions League seasons, the eight highest ranked nations got two entries to the tournament. The point of entry was changed this season however. In the previous years the national runners-up had to enter the qualification round. With those teams always easing through their groups, with the exception of Umeå in 2010–11, UEFA decided to give those a direct entry to the round of 32. As a result, eight nations which under previous rules would have had direct entry to that round now had to go through the qualifying stage. Maltese First Division (women)
The Maltese Women's League or for sponsorship reasons BOV Women's League is the top-level league of women's football in Malta. It is run by the Malta Football Association. After several failed attempts in the 1970s and 1980s to create a lasting women's football competition, successful tournaments of San Gwann and Luxol St. Andrews gained so much interest, that the Malta Football Association decided to organize the first ever league in 1995–96. The most titles were won by Hibernians. Although the winning team of the league qualifies for a spot in the UEFA Women's Champions League, the spot is not always taken. Malta currently sits at the last spot in the UEFA coefficients women's ranking and the last club to take part was Birkirkara in 2007–08; Birkirkana lost all three games with 1–37 goals. The UEFA Europa Conference League (abbreviated as UECL) is an annual football club competition organised by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) for eligible European football clubs. Clubs qualify for the competition based on their performance in their national leagues and cup competitions.
