Mossautal
Mossautal in the Odenwald is a municipality and a state-recognized health resort in the Odenwaldkreis (district) in Hesse, Germany. Geography Location The community lies at elevations of between 300 and 500 m above sea level. The ''Nibelungenstraße'' (''Bundesstraße'' 47) touches Mossautal in the north and the ''Siegfriedstraße'' (''Bundesstraße'' 460) runs through the community in the south. The surrounding countryside is also used as a holiday destination in the UNESCO ''Geo-Naturpark Bergstraße-Odenwald'' on the Marbach Reservoir, the Odenwald's biggest body of standing water. Mossautal is well known as a textbook example of a ''Waldhufendorf'' ("forest village"). Odenwald
The Odenwald () is a low mountain range in the German states of Hesse, Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg. Location The Odenwald is located between the Upper Rhine Plain with the Bergstraße and the ''Hessisches Ried'' (the northeastern section of the Rhine rift) to the west, the Main and the Bauland (a mostly unwooded area with good soils) to the east, the Hanau-Seligenstadt Basin – a subbasin of the Upper Rhine Rift Valley in the Rhine-Main Lowlands – to the north and the Kraichgau to the south. The part south of the Neckar valley is sometimes called the ''Kleiner Odenwald'' ("Little Odenwald"). The northern and western Odenwald belong to southern Hesse, with the south stretching into Baden. Grasellenbach is a municipality in the Bergstraße district in southern Hesse, Germany. Geography Location The community lies in the Odenwald and the UNESCO ''Geo-Naturpark Bergstraße-Odenwald'' at elevations between 420 and 580 m above sea level. The southern Odenwald's two most important brooks, the Ulfenbach and the Weschnitz, which both rise in the constituent community of Hammelbach where the Neckar-Rhine watershed runs, flow through the community's several centres. Odenwaldkreis
The Odenwaldkreis is a ''Kreis'' (district) in the south of Hesse, Germany. Neighboring districts are Darmstadt-Dieburg, Miltenberg, Neckar-Odenwald-Kreis, Rhein-Neckar-Kreis and Kreis Bergstraße. ''Odenwaldkreis'' belongs to the Rhine Neckar Area. History In 1822 the district was created under the name ''Erbach'', subdivided into two ''Bezirke'' Breuberg and Erbach. The last of several modifications of the district was in 1972, when some municipalities from the Dieburg and Bergstraße district were added to the district. Wald-Michelbach is a municipality in the Bergstraße district in Hesse, Germany. Geography Location The community lies in the Odenwald, 12 km east of Weinheim. Beerfelden
Beerfelden (pronunciation: ˈbeːɐˌfɛldən) was a town in the Odenwald in the Odenwaldkreis (district) in Hesse, Germany, 28 km northeast of Heidelberg. On 1 January 2018 Beerfelden, Hesseneck, Rothenberg and Sensbachtal merged to create the town Oberzent. Geography Location Beerfelden lies in the Odenwald at elevations from 330 to 540 m. Towards the south stretches the narrow, wooded Gammelsbach Valley, in which are found the Freienstein castle ruins, down to the Neckar. The ''Beerfelder Land'' is a tourist region that lies between Beerfelden, the communities of Rothenberg, Sensbachtal and Hesseneck in the ''Geo-Naturpark Bergstraße-Odenwald'' and which is one of the Odenwald's most richly forested areas. Erbach () is a town and the district seat of the Odenwaldkreis (district) in Hesse, Germany. It has a population of around 13,000. Geography Location The town lies in the ''Mittelgebirge'' Odenwald at elevations between 200 and 560 m in the valley of the Mümling. One geological peculiarity is the creek Erdbach's complete disappearance within Dorf-Erbach's community area. The Erdbach reappears near Stockheim. There are several places where the Erdbach disappears into the ground. Maasdam
Maasdam is a village in the Dutch province of South Holland. It is located about 14 km south of the city of Rotterdam, in the municipality of Hoeksche Waard, on the rural Hoeksche Waard island. From the 14th Century until around 1800, Maasdam was also the name of the local administrative area, the fief and later the "ambacht". Subsequently, from 1 January 1812 until 1 January 1984, it became the name of the local municipality, which comprised the village of Maasdam and the surrounding polders. In the periods 1812 - 1817 and 1832 - 1984, the hamlet of Cillaarshoek and the hamlet and polder of Sint Anthoniepolder were also part of the municipality of Maasdam.
