Mosogno
Mosogno is a former municipality in the district of Locarno in the canton of Ticino in Switzerland. On 10 April 2016 the former municipalities of Vergeletto, Gresso, Mosogno and Isorno merged into the municipality of Onsernone. History Mosogno is first mentioned in 1277 as ''Mosogno''. In 1352 it was mentioned as ''Muxognio''. In the Middle Ages, it was one of the five ''Squadre'' that made up the community of Onsernone. It became an independent municipality in 1803. The church of S. Bernardo was built along the road in 1596. It became parish church and center of its own parish after it separated from Loco in 1685. The settlement of Mosogno Sotto has had the Chapel St. Maria Addolorata since 1684. In 1657 the chapel of S. Maria della Natività was built in Bairon, while in Chiosso the chapel of S. The Locarno District (also called Locarnese) is a district of Canton Ticino, Switzerland. It has a population of (as of ). Geography The Locarno District has an area, , of . Of this area, or 6.4% is used for agricultural purposes, while or 58.1% is forested. Of the rest of the land, or 4.9% is settled (buildings or roads), or 2.3% is either rivers or lakes and or 24.3% is unproductive land. Of the built up area, housing and buildings made up 2.8% and transportation infrastructure made up 1.2%. Gresso
Gresso is a former municipality in the district of Locarno in the canton of Ticino in Switzerland. The municipality was formed in 1882 by splitting from Vergeletto. On 10 April 2016 the former municipalities of Vergeletto, Gresso, Mosogno and Isorno merged into the municipality of Onsernone. History The discovery of a Roman tomb from the 1st-2nd century AD, with pottery and coins, proves that Gresso was part of the outer-most reaches of the Vicus of Muralto. The modern village of Gresso is first mentioned in 1316 as ''Agrassio''. Until 1803, Gresso was part of the ''Squadra'' of Russo (now Onsernone), one of five ''Squadre'', that formed the medieval community of Onsernone. Borgnone
Borgnone is a hamlet part of the municipality of Centovalli in the district of Locarno in the canton of Ticino in Switzerland. Not to be confused with much bigger Camedo or with Lionza or Costa. It is serviced by the train station of Cadanza-Borgnone. History Borgnone is first mentioned in 1364 as ''Brugnono'. In the Middle Ages it was part of the Locarno region. In the 15th Century, it became a '' Degagna'', which was part of the bailiwick of Locarno between the 16th Century and 1798. It then became an independent political municipality when the municipality of Centovalli was split in 1838. It belonged to the parish of Palagnedra and in 1630 became a vice-parish. Intragna, Switzerland
Intragna is a village and locality in the municipality of Centovalli in the district of Locarno of the canton of Ticino in Switzerland. Intragna has good railway connection with Locarno, Switzerland and Domodossola, Italy, as well as bus connections that lead to various hiking routes - several interesting paths begin or end in Intragna itself. The Ticino League ( it, Lega dei Ticinesi) is a regionalist, national-conservative political party in Switzerland active in the canton of Ticino.
