Moskowitz Prize For Zionism
Moskowitz Prize for Zionism, established by Irving and Cherna Moskowitz, is given for activity in realization of Zionism, as it is comprehended by the Moskowitzes. The Prize has been granted every year since 2008 to three winners in a ceremony which takes place on Jerusalem Day, in the City of David (Silwan), City of David. The prize extent to each winner is US$50,000. The prize founder, billionaire Irving Moskowitz is an American businessman and a right wing politics, right activist who supports Israeli settlements in the West Bank. On the prize judge committee chair stands his wife Cherna Moskowitz. The members of the committee are public personalities from Israel and abroad, whom amongst are Avigdor Kahalani and Moshe Arens. Gush Etzion
Gush Etzion ( he, גּוּשׁ עֶצְיוֹן, ' Etzion Bloc) is a cluster of Israeli settlements located in the Judaean Mountains, directly south of Jerusalem and Bethlehem in the West Bank. The core group includes four Jewish agricultural villages that were founded in 1943–1947, and destroyed by the Arab Legion before the outbreak of the 1948 Arab–Israeli War, in the Kfar Etzion massacre. The 35th Brigade ( he, חֲטִיבַת הַצַּנְחָנִים, ''Hativat HaTzanhanim''), also known as the Paratroopers Brigade, is an infantry brigade unit of paratroopers within the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), and forms a major part of the Infantry Corps. Aharon Davidi
Aharon Davidi (1927 – February 11, 2012) was an Israeli general and founder of the Sar-El volunteer program of the IDF. Biography He was born in Mandatory Palestine as the youngest son of an immigrant family from Bender (Bessarabia). At the age of fifteen, he served in the Haganah and Palmach. In the 1947–1949 Palestine war he fought on the southern front with the Negev Brigade, where he met his future wife, Hassida. In 1953, Davidi volunteered for the new IDF Paratroopers Brigade as a company commander. The next year, the unit was very active in operations and other dangerous missions behind enemy lines. Davidi and his company supported Ariel Sharon's Unit 101 in the raid on Qibya, he and Sharon remained close friends. He was decorated for actions in the Gaza strip in 1955 with the Medal of Courage. Netzah Yehuda Battalion
The 97th Netzah Yehuda Battalion ( he, גדוד נצח יהודה, ), previously known as Nahal Haredi (), is a battalion in the Kfir Brigade of the Israel Defense Forces. Ahiya ( he, אחיה) (also transliterated as Achiya or Achia) is an Israeli outpost in the West Bank, about 1.5 km southeast of the Palestinian village of Jalud. It falls under the purview of the Mateh Binyamin Regional Council. Israeli outposts are considered illegal both under international law as well as under Israeli law.
