Moses Otieno Kajwang (2 February 1979) is the second elected Senator for Homa Bay County in Kenya and a member of the Orange Democratic Movement The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) is a centre-left political party in Kenya. Born into a family of politicians, his elder brother Gerald Otieno Kajwang served as a member of parliament for seventeen years and was a minister for Immigration for a period of five years under the Grand Coalition Government. Moi University
Moi University is a public university located in Kesses, Eldoret town, Uasin Gishu county, in the former Rift Valley Province of Kenya. It was established in 1984 by the Moi University Act of the Parliament of Kenya, after recommendations from the McKay Commission. The current chancellor of the university is Professor Miriam Were while the vice-chancellor is Professor Isaac Sanga Kosgey. History Moi University was first established in 1984. The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) is a centre-left political party in Kenya. It is the successor of a grassroots people's movement which was formed during the 2005 Kenyan constitutional referendum campaign. This movement separated in August 2007 into the Orange Democratic Movement Party of Kenya and the Wiper Democratic Movement – Kenya (formerly the Orange Democratic MovementKenya, known as ODM–Kenya). The name "orange" originates from the ballot cards in the referendum, in which the banana represented a "yes" vote, and the orange represented a "no" vote. Gerald Otieno Kajwang
Gerald Otieno Kajwang (15 July 1956 – 19 November 2014) was a Kenyan politician. He belonged to the Orange Democratic Movement and was elected to represent the Mbita Constituency in the National Assembly of Kenya in the December 2007 parliamentary election. In the bitterly contested 2013 elections, Otieno Kajwang was elected to represent Homa Bay County in the Senate of Kenya. Upon his death, his brother, Moses Otieno Kajwang won the election to succeed him in Parliament, representing Homa Bay. Homa Bay
Homa Bay is a town (and eponymous bay) on the south shore of Winam Gulf of Lake Victoria, in western Kenya. It lies near Mount Homa (in the Luo language ''Got Marahuma'' or ''God Uma'' famous mountain" and Ruma National Park, the latter noted for Jackson's hartebeests and roan antelope (the government has also released reticulated giraffes into the park). Homa Bay was once the District Headquarters for all of South Nyanza District, Nyanza Province, but has now been divided into at least three districts.
