Moses Lim
Moses Lim (born 12 December 1949) is a Singaporean actor, television host, comedian and food connoisseur, best known for playing Tan Ah Teck in the Singaporean sitcom ''Under One Roof (Singapore TV series), Under One Roof (1995 - 2003)''. Education Lim took his primary school education at Catholic High School, Singapore, Catholic High School, secondary school education at Maris Stella High School and Pre-University course, Pre-University education at Anglican High School, Singapore, Anglican High School. He later studied at the Ngee Ann Polytechnic. Of the Chinese Henghua dialect group, Lim grew up speaking Hokkien at home. He learned English and Mandarin from his neighbours. Colony Of Singapore
Singapore was a British colony for 144 years, apart from a period of occupation under the Japanese Empire from 1942 to 1945 during the Pacific War. Star Awards
The Star Awards (Chinese: 红星大奖) are awards for artistic and technical merit in the media organisation Mediacorp of Singapore where Mediacorp recognises entertainers under their employment for outstanding performances of the year. The awards are given annually in a ceremony. The various category winners are awarded a trophy, with initial designs featuring various star shapes. The star was subsequently removed and the trophy is designed as a S shaped column, depicting the star. History The 1st Star Awards presentation was held on 26 February 1994, took place at the Caldecott Broadcast Centre, MediaCorp TV Theatre with an audience of about 500 people. Star Awards 2005 was the 12th Star Awards ceremony, held on 4 December 2005. It was part of the annual Star Awards organised by MediaCorp for MediaCorp TV Channel 8. Following MediaCorp's merger with SPH MediaWorks on 1 January 2005, the nominees included artistes from the former SPH MediaWorks Channel U, many of whom were former employees of MediaCorp and its predecessor Television Corporation of Singapore. MediaCorp TV Channel 8 broadcast the awards ceremony from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm while SPH MediaWorks Channel U (now MediaCorp TV Channel U), aired the ceremony for the first time and began broadcasting the ceremony at 7:30 pm. Prior to the actual ceremony, a separate awards ceremony and gala was held at The Fullerton Hotel in which technical category awards (e.g. Best Director, Best Screenplay, etc.) and the Young Talent Award (child actors) were given out.
