Moses Kiprono arap Keino (September, 1937 – November 4, 1998) was Speaker of the Parliament of Kenya from 1988 until 1991. Education and early life Between 1962 and 1967, Keino attended Hochschule fur Ökonomie (University of Economics), Karlhorst, East Berlin, Germany and graduated with a Masters in Economics. Political career Moses Kiprono arap Keino served as a Member of Parliament representing Kericho East Constituency for 15 years on a KANU ticket 969 – 1983 On the hindsight of a long parliamentary service stretching to the Second Parliament, he had served on several Standing and ad hoc Select Committees; and both as Deputy Chief Whip and Deputy Speaker. Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka
Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka (born 24 December 195is a Kenyan politician who was the tenth Vice-President of Kenya from 2008 to 2013. Musyoka served in the government under the late President Daniel arap Moi and was Minister for Foreign Affairs from 1993 until 1998; subsequently, under the late President Mwai Kibaki, he was Minister of Foreign Affairs again from 2003 to 2004, then Minister of the Environment from 2004 to 2005. He was an unsuccessful candidate in the 2007 presidential election, after which he was appointed vice-president by Kibaki in January 2008. The Prime Minister of Kenya was a post in the Kenyan government. The first Prime Minister of Kenya was Jomo Kenyatta, who became Prime Minister in 1963. In 1964, Kenya became a republic, the post of Prime Minister was abolished and Jomo Kenyatta became President. Following a power-sharing agreement in February 2008, the role was recreated that April and held by Raila Odinga. The position was again abolished by the 2010 Constitution after the 2013 elections. The proposed 2021 constitutional referendum would have decided whether to constitutionally reestablish the office. The process of the proposed amendments to the constitution, was declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court of Kenya On 31 March 2022. Kericho
Kericho is the biggest town in Kericho County located in the highlands west of the Kenyan Rift Valley. Standing on the edge of the Mau Forest, Kericho has a warm and temperate climate making it an ideal location for agriculture and in particular, the large scale cultivation of tea. The town is strategically located along Kenya's western tourism circuit with access to Lake Victoria, the Maasai Mara National Reserve and Ruma National Park. As of the 1999 census, the town has a population of 150,000. Kericho is the home town of the Kipsigis, who are a part of the Kalenjin people. Etymology The etymology of Kericho is unclear. Raila Amolo Odinga (born 7 January 1945) is a Kenyan politician, former Member of Parliament (MP) for Langata and businessman who served as the Prime Minister of Kenya from 2008 to 2013. Jaramogi Ajuma Oginga Odinga (October 1911 – 20 January 1994) was a Luo (Kenya), Luo chieftain who became a prominent figure in Kenya's struggle for independence. He later served as Kenya's first Vice-President of Kenya, Vice-President, and thereafter as opposition leader. Odinga's son Raila Odinga is the former Prime Minister of Kenya, Prime Minister, and another son, Oburu Odinga, is a former Assistant Minister in the Ministry of Finance. Jaramogi is credited for the phrase "Not Yet Uhuru" which is the title of his autobiography published in 1967.
