Moscow State Textile University
Moscow State Textile Institute (formerly A. N. Kosygin Moscow State Textile University) was formed in 1919. It is one of the oldest and institutes for higher studies in textiles in Russia. History In 1981, the institute was named in honor of Soviet Premier Alexei Kosygin, who died the previous year and whose profession was in the textile industry. The institute was upgraded to "Academy" in 1990. It was renamed to A. N. Kosygin Moscow State Textile Academy. Nine years later, the Academy was approved as University and renamed as the A. N. Kosygin Moscow State Textile University in 1999. About The university has its own complex. It comprises 8 different corpuses at the center of the city of Moscow, Russia. The teaching staff at the university is above 560, with 110 of them are Ph.D. and Professors. Grisha Bruskin
Grisha Bruskin (born October 21, 1945) is a Russian artist known as a painter, sculptor, and printmaker. He was born in Moscow. Between 1963 and 1968, he studied at the Moscow Textile Institute (Art Department). In 1969, he became a member of the Artists' Union of the USSR. Bruskin's participation in the famous Sotheby's auction in Moscow (1988) brought him worldwide fame, when his piece, "Fundamental Lexicon" was sold for a record price. He relocated to New York in 1988. In 1999, at the invitation of the German government and as a representative of Russia, Bruskin created a monumental triptych, "Life Above All" for the reconstructed Reichstag in Berlin. In 2001 he published a memoir-style book, "Past Imperfect." In 2012 he received the Kandinsky Prize in the "Project of the Year" category, for his project, "H-Hour." Alvina Shpady
Alvina Andreevna Shpady (January 31, 1935 – June 22, 2019; ) was an artist and art restorer in Uzbekistan. As a longtime restorer at the Nukus Museum of Art, she worked to preserve the museum's holdings as well as to promote traditional Karakalpak textile techniques. Biography Alvina Shpady was born in 1935 in Baýramaly, the capital of Turkmenistan's Mary Region. Her family were Volga Germans who had been resettled further east in the Soviet Union. Shpady studied at the Shota Rustaveli Turkmen State Art School in the Turkmen capital of Ashgabat, graduating in 1957. She then returned for a few years to Baýramaly, where she taught art to secondary school students and worked as a cartographer for geologists. Vyacheslav Mikhailovich "Slava" Zaitsev (russian: Вячеслав Михайлович Зайцев; born 2 March 1938) is a Russian fashion designer, painter, graphic artist and theatrical costume designer. Early life Zaitsev was born on 2 March 1938 in Ivanovo to Mikhail Yakovlevich Zaitsev and Maria Ivanovna Zaitseva.
