Universum (band)
Universum are a heavy metal band from Adelaide, South Australia. The band completed formation in early 2007 and describe their sound a fusion of Scandinavian melodic death metal, new wave American metal, old school thrash metal and progressive metal. Universum have released two albums to date, the debut album '' Leto Destinatus'' on 15 June 2008 and their second album '' Mortuus Machina'' on 1 January 2011. Band history Formed in early 2006, their sound was influenced by such bands as Pantera, Death, and Iron Maiden. In 2007, Universum completed an eponymous demo. Soon Liam Brophy and Rachael Madden were added to the line up. Playing a string of Australian shows, Universum entered the Emergenza Battle of the Bands competition where they came away runners up in the South Australian state final, winning 'Best Vocalist' and 'Best Guitarist.' Nightrage
Nightrage is a Greek/Swedish melodic death metal band originally from Thessaloniki. They later re-located to Gothenburg, Sweden. History Formation and ''Sweet Vengeance'' (2000–2003) Nightrage was founded by Marios Iliopoulos and his close friend Gus G in June 2000. They made three demos from 2001 to 2002. Their debut album, '' Sweet Vengeance'', was released in 2003 and featured drummer Per Möller Jensen (The Haunted), and bassist Brice Leclercq. They also managed to acquire the services of legendary vocalist Tomas Lindberg (ex At the Gates). ''Sweet Vengeance'' also featured guest clean vocals on a few tracks by Tom S. Paul Wardingham is an English-born Australian musician. Self-described as "instrumental cyber metal" his style can be categorized as a hybrid mix of rock, progressive metal with electronic elements. He is currently signed to Enigmatic Records As of February 2018 Paul is endorsed by Kiesel Guitars. Biography Paul Wardingham was born in the UK where he learned guitar and became exposed to blues and jazz fusion. Marios Iliopoulos (born 16 December 1969 in Sydney, Australia) is a Greek guitarist and founder of the melodic death metal band Nightrage, and a former member of Exhumation. After recording three albums with Exhumation (all of them produced in Sweden), Marios formed Nightrage along with fellow Greek guitar hero Gus G. Olof Mörck
Olof Mörck (born 12 December 1981) is a Swedish musician who is the guitarist and one of the songwriters of the metal band Amaranthe, as well as guitarist of the power metal band Dragonland. He was also a member of Nightrage between 2006 and 2011 as a guitarist. Notably, he has provided two guitar solos for the 2009 album '' The Isolation Game'' by the Italian melodic death metal band Disarmonia Mundi. In 2010, My Darling Dismay released a video of a song with the same title. The song is more of a rock style than his previous metal projects. Amaranthe is a Swedish metal band originally known as Avalanche. The band is notable for their blend of various metal genres and having three lead vocalists. myGRAIN is a melodic death metal band from Helsinki, Finland. They were signed to Spinefarm Records. They released five studio albums. Background myGRAIN formed in 2004. The band roster was Tommy Tuovinen (vocals), Resistor (rhythm guitar), Jonas (bass), and Matthew (guitar) from their former band, New Science Band. Melodic death metal (also referred to as melodeath) is a subgenre of death metal that employs highly melodic guitar riffs, often borrowing from traditional heavy metal (including New Wave of British Heavy Metal). The genre features the heaviness of death metal but with highly melodic or harmonized guitar riffs and solos, and often features high-pitched shrieked vocals (differing from traditional death metal) alongside the low-pitched growls commonly featured in traditional death metal. Soilwork is a Swedish melodic death metal band from Helsingborg. They are signed to Nuclear Blast. Formed in late 1995 by Björn Strid and Peter Wichers, originally under the name ''Inferior Breed'', the band changed their name in late 1996 to Soilwork (meaning "working from the ground up"). Scar Symmetry is a Swedish melodic death metal band from Avesta, formed in 2004. The band has released six albums, with seven released singles. They are signed to Nuclear Blast Records.
