Morton Fetterolf
Morton H. Fetterolf, Jr. (April 18, 1912 – November 4, 1997) was an American politician from Pennsylvania who served as a Republican member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the Montgomery County district from 1957 to 1964 including as Majority Whip from 1963 to 1964. He also served in the Pennsylvania State Senate for the 12th district in 1964. He was elected to the state senate on April 28, 1964 and resigned on July 2, 1964. Early life and education Fetterolf was born in Rydal, Pennsylvania and attended the William Penn Charter School, The Hill School, and Yale University. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1943 to 1946. Business career He worked as vice president and director of the Millfield Coal and Mining Company and as director of the Sugar Creek Coal and Mining Company. Continental Football League
The Continental Football League (COFL) was a professional American football minor league that operated in North America from 1965 through 1969. It was established following the collapse of the original United Football League, and hoped to become the major force in professional football outside the National Football League (NFL) and the American Football League (AFL). It owed its name, at least in part, to the Continental League, a proposed third Major League Baseball organization that influenced MLB significantly, although they never played a game. Four Continental Football League contributors are in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, the most of any league not considered a major league: coach Bill Walsh, quarterback Ken Stabler, Doak Walker and Steve Van Buren (the last two of whom were inducted as players but were coaches in this league). The Philadelphia Bulldogs were a professional American football team based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania that played in the Continental Football League beginning in 1965. Their regular season games were played at Temple Stadium and in December 1966 they won the league title there by a 20–17 score in overtime against the Orlando Panthers after finishing the regular season 9–5 and tied for the East Division lead with the Toronto Rifles. The winning field goal was kicked by former NFL/Canadian FL player Jamie Caleb. The team disbanded in 1967.
