Islamic Nations Party or Party of Islamic Nations ( fa, حزب ملل اسلامی, Ḥezb-e melal-e eslāmi) was an Islamic leftist armed group with clandestine system short-lived during 1960s. It was initially a secret society active against Pahlavi dynasty in late 1950s. It consisted of middle-class youth, mostly highschool teachers and university students. The organization was reportedly involved in 1963 events and 1965 assassination of Hassan Ali Mansur. However, it is alleged that opening fire on Police before arrest of leading members was its "sole standoff". Mohsen Aminzadeh ( fa, محسن امینزاده, born 1957) is an Iranian reformist politician and former diplomat. Aminzadeh was a founding member of the largest reformist party, the Islamic Iran Participation Front. He served as the Deputy Foreign Minister during the 1997-2005 administration of the Iranian president Mohammad Khatami. Like many other senior reformist politicians, Aminzadeh was arrested in June 2009 for protesting the disputed re-election of president Ahmadinejad and convicted in 2010 of conspiring to "disturb security" and "spreading propaganda" against the Islamic Republic. Education Aminzadeh received a B.Sc. in Mining Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology in 1982. Presidential elections were held in Iran on 23 May 1997, which resulted in an unpredicted win for the reformist candidate Mohammad Khatami. The election was notable not only for the lopsided majority of the winner - 70% - but for the high turnout. 80% of those eligible to vote did so, compared to 50% in the previous presidential election. Hassan Rouhani, the incumbent President of Iran, launched his reelection campaign for the Presidential office in February 2017.
