Morten Finstad
Morten Finstad (born May 24, 1967) is a Norwegian former ice hockey player. Finstad spent his entire career playing for Stjernen Hockey between 1986 and 2001. The centre (or center in the United States) in ice hockey is a forward (hockey), forward position of a player whose primary Hockey rink#Zones, zone of play is the middle of the ice, away from the sideboards. Centres have more flexibility in their positioning and therefore often end up covering more ice surface than any other player. Stjernen Hockey
Stjernen Hockey is a Norwegian ice hockey team based in Fredrikstad, Norway. They currently play in the GET-ligaen. They play their home games in Stjernehallen. Their team colours are red and white. History Stjernen was founded in 1960 when the boys club "the Star" simply translated their name to Norwegian to comply with the rules of the association to begin play in the league system. After ten years of playing on an outdoor rink, or hiring ice time from local rivals Sparta Warriors, Stjernen got their own arena in 1970 when Stjernehallen was officially opened. With a good youth organisation to go with the new facilities, Stjernen soon started to climb in the leagues and in 1974 they reached the first division for the first time in club history. In 1981, the club saw its finest day beating Vålerenga Ishockey 2–1 in the best of three play-off final becoming the first team outside Oslo to hoist the cup. Fredrikstad (; previously ''Frederiksstad''; literally "Fredrik's Town") is a city and municipality in Viken county, Norway. The administrative centre of the municipality is the city of Fredrikstad. Ice hockey (or simply hockey) is a team sport played on ice skates, usually on an ice skating rink with lines and markings specific to the sport. It belongs to a family of sports called hockey. Norway Men's National Ice Hockey Team
The Norway men's national ice hockey team is the national ice hockey team from Norway that participates at the IIHF World Championships. The team is governed by the Norwegian Ice Hockey Association and is coached by Petter Thoresen. History The Norwegian Ice Hockey Association (NIHA) was founded in 1934 and, adopting the international rules and regulations of ice hockey, became a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation in 1935. Poor finances delayed the formation of a national team until 1937, and continued to hamper its development in the years prior to World War II. After missing out on the 1935 World Championships and 1936 Winter Olympics, the NIHF managed to raise enough funds to send a team to London for the 1937 World Championships. Gullpucken
Gullpucken ( translit. ''the Golden puck'') is awarded by the Norwegian Ice Hockey Federation (NIHF) to the best Norwegian ice hockey player each year. The award is subject to consideration which means it is not necessarily awarded every year. Its inception year was 1959, when Leif Solberg of Furuset became its first recipient. Patrick Thoresen was the last who received the award in 2009. The NIHF also awards the Valemon trophy to the best Norwegian female ice hockey player. It has been awarded twice, the last time was in 2003.
