Moris Zano
Moris Zano ( he, מוריס ז'אנו; born 8 May 1958) is an Israeli former footballer. Zano was born in Morocco and moved to Israel at a young age and grew up in Ashkelon. Zano started playing football for Hapoel Ashkelon and at age 16 he joined to the senior. After enlisting exams approached Air Force football championship, where he met Hapoel Tel Aviv soccer player Ya'akov Ekhoiz, who recommended him to join to Hapoel. Hapoel Tel Aviv wanted join the player to the club, but Ashkelon created difficulties for the transition, and Jano came for closure. During the year, it did not play a severed connection between the player and Hapoel Tel Aviv, and in 1980 he signed with Hapoel Be'er Sheva. On the 24th round, he scored against Hapoel Tel Aviv at the time fought for the championship. Ya'akov Ekhoiz
Ya'akov Ekhoiz ( he, יעקב אקהויז; born 29 May 1957) is an Israeli former footballer. Biography Ekhoiz joined Hapoel Tel Aviv youth team, after impressing in the national schoolboys championship, and graduated to the senior squad during the 1974–75 season. Ekhoiz stayed with the club until retiring in 1992, playing 484 matches and scoring 12 goals for the club. Ekhoiz scored one of the club's goals in the 1983 cup final. On 18 June 1980 Ekhoiz played his debut match for the national team in a 1982 FIFA World Cup qualification (UEFA Group 6) match against Sweden, coming as a substitute to Rifaat Turk in the first half, setting up the header which led to the Israeli goal in the match and missing a match winning opportunity in the 88th minute. Ekhoiz played 28 more matches for the national team, making his final appearance in a 2–7 defeat to Argentina on 4 May 1986. 1987–88 Liga Leumit
The 1987–88 Liga Leumit season saw the league experiment with a split-league system. After the first two rounds (26 matches), the league split, with the top eight clubs forming a ''Championship group'' and the bottom six forming a ''Relegation group''. Within the groups, the clubs played each other once more. Hapoel Tel Aviv won the title whilst Hapoel Lod and Maccabi Petah Tikva were relegated to Liga Artzit. Zahi Armeli of Maccabi Haifa was the league's top scorer with 25 goals. The following season the league continued to use the split league system, but had six clubs in the Championship group and eight in the Relegation group.
