Morgan County, West Virginia
Morgan County is a county located in the U.S. state of West Virginia. As of the 2020 census, the population was 17,063. Its county seat is Berkeley Springs. The county was formed in 1820 from parts of Hampshire and Berkeley Counties and named in honor of General Daniel Morgan, prominent soldier of the American Revolutionary War. The county and town of Bath are considered an excellent jumping off point for exploring the Potomac and Cacapon Rivers valleys just to the north and west. Along with also being a tourist destination hosting numerous local artists, mineral water spas, and a large amount of outdoor recreation that includes fishing, boating, wildlife, hunting, and mountain scenery. Berkeley Springs High School is an American public, co-educational high school located in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia. It teaches 9th through 12th grade and currently has about 747 students in attendance. History Berkeley Springs High School was founded in 1913 in the town of Berkeley Springs, which is the seat of Morgan County, West Virginia. Originally located at 187 South Green Street and named Bath District High School, the school moved to its current campus in the Berryville neighborhood in 1939. The 1939 building is now called the Main Building, or Building A. In 1963, a junior high school was built next to the high school building. When Warm Springs Middle School was built and the junior high school closed in 1998, it became the high school's Arts and Humanities Building (Building B). Paw Paw High School in Paw Paw, West Virginia serves grades 7 through 12 with approximately 100 students enrolled and over 20 faculty members. It is one of the two high schools in Morgan County along with Berkeley Springs High School in Berkeley Springs.
