Morell, Prince Edward Island
Morell is a rural municipality in Prince Edward Island, Canada. It is located in Kings County east of Bristol. Morell is located on St. Peter's Bay, two kilometres inland from St. Peter's Bay, a sub-basin of the Gulf of St. Lawrence. The local economy is centred on farming (wild blueberry farms), fishing (Lobster), aquaculture (Mussels), and tourism. It was incorporated in 1953. Most of the area residents are of Scottish, English, Irish, or French descent. The first inhabitants of the community of Morell were Maritime Archaic Indians followed by the Mi'kmaq Nation. The Morell River was known to the Mi'kmaq as Pogooseemkekseboo, meaning "clam ground river". The community was named for Jean Francois Morel who settled in the area in 1720-21, having arrived from Saint-Malo, France. Local attractions include the nearby Rodd Crowbush Golf & Beach Resort. The Morell River () is a river in County Kildare, Ireland, a tributary of the River Liffey. Name The name of the river derives from William Morrell, formerly a landowner in the area. It first appears (spelled ''Morrel'') in the ''Statistical Survey of the County of Kildare'' (1807). Course The Morell rises in Slieveroe, a few kilometres west of Blessington Lake. It flows south-to-north through Punchestown Racecourse, passing Craddockstown Golf Club, Naas Industrial Estate. It meets with a tributary stream outside Johnstown, County Kildare and is bridged by the N7 road. It continues northwards and unites with another tributary south of Palmerstown House Golf Club. The Morell then passes under the Grand Canal via an aqueduct and under the Dublin–Cork railway line, then Morell unites with the Painestown River and then passes under the Morell Bridge, where there is an Environmental Protection Agency monitoring station. Morell Bridge
The Morell Bridge is an arch bridge over the Yarra River in South Yarra, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Completed in 1899 by John Monash and J. T. N. Anderson, it is notable as the first bridge in Victoria that was built using reinforced concrete. It features decorations on the three arch spans, including large dragon motifs and ornamental Victorian lights. The gutters on the bridge are cobbled bluestone, with a single lane bitumen strip running down the middle. The bridge is listed on the Victorian Heritage Register. Originally known as the Anderson Street bridge, it was named the Morell Bridge in 1936 after Sir Stephen Morell, who was a prominent Victorian businessman and Lord Mayor of Melbourne between 1926 and 1928. On 7 June 1998 the bridge was closed to motor vehicles as part of the CityLink project. The Morells are an American rock band from Springfield, Missouri. They released an album titled ''Shake and Push'' in 1982. The band's members have included bassist and producer Lou Whitney, guitarist D. Clinton Thompson, keyboardists Kelly Brown, Maralie (Whitney), Dudley Brown, and Joe Terry, and drummer Ron Gremp. As a producer and hired talent, they have worked with Dave Alvin, Jonathan Richman, Syd Straw, Robbie Fulks, The Bottle Rockets, Wilco, Carolyne Mas, The Del-Lords and Eric Ambel.
