Raymond Bowers was an Australian writer who mostly worked in London. He worked as a journalist in Perth, writing for amateur theatre. In 1954 at age 34 he went to London in order to improve his chances of having his work done professionally. His breakthrough play was '' In Writing'' in 1956, later done for Australian television. Shaun Sutton
Shaun Alfred Graham Sutton (14 October 1919 in Hammersmith, London – 14 May 2004 in Norfolk) was an English television writer, director, producer and executive, who worked in the medium for nearly forty years from the 1950s to the 1990s. His most important role was as the BBC television drama, Head of Drama at BBC Television from the late 1960s until 1981, a role he occupied for longer than anyone else. Early life Sutton's father, Graham Sutton, was a theatre critic and novelist as well as being a teacher at Latymer Upper School, where Sutton himself was educated. His mother was an actress, and Sutton followed in her footsteps by enrolling in drama school after leaving Latymer. However, the coming of the Second World War interrupted his career and he joined the Royal Navy, seeing action in the Mediterranean and attaining the rank of lieutenant. Terence Ivor Grant Morgan (8 December 1921 – 25 August 2005) was an English actor in theatre, cinema and television. He played many "villain" roles in British film but is probably best remembered for his starring role in the TV historical adventure series ''Sir Francis Drake''. Biography Terence Morgan was born in Catford, London, the eldest child of Frederick Rowland Morgan, a "manipulative surgeon" (i.e., a bonesetter) and Muriel M Morgan (née Grant). His uncle was the character actor Verne Morgan. From 1932 to 1937, he attended Ewell Castle School, Epsom. On leaving school, his first job was as a shipping clerk at Lloyd's of London, at a salary of £1/week. He left after winning a scholarship to RADA, graduating in 1942. David Edgar Alderson Horne (14 July 1898 in Balcombe, Sussex – 15 March 1970 in Marylebone, London) was an English film and stage actor. Biography British actor and playwright David Horne began his film career in the 1930s, after a distinguished early career in the theatre. He was generally seen portraying pompous, self-satisfied characters. He never managed to rise to the "star" level in his silver screen acting career, but he was an indispensable character actor, and played many utility parts such as desk clerks, newspaper editors, police officials, lawyers and doctors. Richard Wordsworth
Richard Curwen Wordsworth (19 January 1915 – 21 November 1993) was an English character actor. He was the great-great-grandson of the poet William Wordsworth. As a young man he followed in the footsteps of his clergyman father, reading Divinity at Cambridge University. But he quickly found acting more to his taste and, after performing at the Cambridge Footlights, he decided to study drama at the Embassy School of Acting in London. This proved an excellent choice. He quickly developed a talent for character acting which sustained him and his family through a long and richly varied career. In classical theatre he worked with John Gielgud, Donald Wolfit, Anthony Quayle and Richard Burton. After successful Shakespearian seasons at the Old Vic and Stratford-upon-Avon, he starred in the musical '' Lock Up Your Daughters'' which launched the Mermaid Theatre in London.
