Moravice, Croatia
Moravice (formerly known as Komorske Moravice until 1919, thereafter as Srpske Moravice until 1991) ( sr-Cyrl, Моравице) is a settlement in north-western Croatia, situated at the far east of the mountainous region of Gorski kotar in the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County. It is part of the Vrbovsko municipality. The population is 664 (as of the 2011 census). Brod Moravice
Brod Moravice is a municipality in the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County in western Croatia. There are 985 inhabitants, with 96% Croats and 4% Italians. It is the smallest municipality, as for population, and oldest one in its county. History Brod Moravice was first mentioned in 1260. The rural municipality was founded in the 14th century. Throughout history, it has also been known as Moravice, Gornje Moravice, Turanj and Brodske Moravice. From 1919 until 1991 name was Srpske Moravice. During the 15th and 16th centuries, the municipality was the subject of numerous Turkish raids. Geography Overview The municipality, part of the historic and geographic large region of the Littoral, is located in the mountain range close to Croatian borders with Slovenia. It dists 65 km from Karlovac, 71 from Rijeka, 114 from Zagreb, 104 from Ljubljana and 144 from Trieste. Moravice (river)
Moravice (german: Mohra) is a river in the Czech Republic, the right tributary of the river Opava (river), Opava. It originates in the Hrubý Jeseník mountain range at the elevation of 1,135 m and flows south-eastward. Near Opava it enters the Opava River. It is 100.5 km long, and its basin area is 899.9 km2. The river partially forms the historical border between Moravia and Silesia. It flows through Malá Morávka, Dolní Moravice, Břidličná, Kružberk, Staré Těchanovice, Hradec nad Moravicí, Branka u Opavy and Opava. The Slezská Harta Reservoir and Kružberk Reservoir are constructed on the river. Its major tributary is Hvozdnice (river), Hvozdnice. References
