Mooroolbark Soccer Club is an Australian soccer club based in Mooroolbark, an outer eastern suburb of Melbourne, Victoria. The club currently plays in Victorian State League Division 2. History Founded by two Dutch men, they formed a Dutch team with the name Mooroolbark United Soccer Club in 1962. Mooroolbark's backing changed to a British influenced club in its formative years. In 1978, the United tagline was dropped completely from the name. 1964–1969: The Early Years The club's first full season in the Victorian Metropolitan League 4th Division saw it finish 9th. The following years would see the club improve its season finishes, finishing 7th (1965), 6th (1966), 5th (1967), 3rd (1968), before winning the Victorian Metropolitan League 4th Division title in 1969. State League 2 is a semi-professional association football league in Victoria (Australia), Victoria, Australia. Sitting at level 5 of the Victorian league system, below the three NPL Victoria divisions, it forms part of the fifth tier of the overall Australian soccer league system, Australian pyramid. It is the second-highest-ranked of the five State Leagues. The league consists of two geographic divisions, North-West and South-East, comprising 12 teams each. The champions of each division are promoted to Victorian State League 1, State League 1; the two bottom-placed teams in each division are replaced with the champions and runners-up of the corresponding Victorian State League 3, State League 3 divisions. Adam Doughty is a Kora (instrument), Kora player, teacher and maker based in the United Kingdom and France as well as Senegal. He began playing the kora in 1991, almost 10 years after seeing Bai Konte and Malamini Jobarteh play at the Commonwealth Institute in London. Doughty first transferred kora ''kumbengo'' onto the guitar, before buying a ''konso'' (hide ring) kora. He later travelled to the Gambia to study the kora under the late celebrated griot Dembo Konte and his family. Doughty runs The Kora Workshop with Kath Pickering.
